Since the reform and opening up,China's manufacturing industry has embedded in the global value chain with OEM mode based on the labor factor endowment. Thus led to the rapid establishment of manufacturing industry cluster, and manufacturing industry has made huge gains. However,in the current international division pattern,China's manufacturing industry is still in the lower value-added links.China has a large scale in manufacturing, but is not competitive with others.Manufacturing in China is still the synonymous of low quality.Under the background of the return of manufacturing in Europe and the United States,China's manufacturing industry may be affected again. How to improve the status and income in the value chain is of great significance to the sustainable development of our country. In view of this, this study mainly includes the following aspects:First of all, with the literature review, the paper evaluates china's status in the value chain by the index of division degree and income. The division degree is measured by the index of vertical specialization and value chain participation index by Koopman. The income is measured by the domestic value-added index based on the value chain trade(DVA)and index of revealed comparative advantage based on the industry's added value(RCA-DVA).Using the China's manufacturing industry panel data from 2000 to 2014,we compare China with other countries in the status in the value chain. The results show that although China has more access to income, but there is a big gap in the degree of division between china and developed countries, especially in high-tech and capital-intensive manufacturing. At the same time,China's dominant comparative advantage is mainly concentrated in the labor-intensive industries, which is also in line with manufacturing industry.Secondly, there is the theoretical and empirical analysis of the factors influencing the division. The influencing factors include the development of the productive service industry, the technical level of the manufacturing industry, the factor endowment of the manufacturing industry, the scale of the manufacturing industry, and the lagging factors, taking account of the locking effect of the value chain. The results show that the production service industry and manufacturing R&D investment have significant influence on the division degree of the value chain, but the effect of R&D investment is not significant in the short term. The influence of manufacturing factor endowment on the division of value chain is complicated and the increase of capital labor ratio has an inhibitory effect in low-tech manufacturing, but the promotion in high-tech manufacturing industry, because different industries may have different best capital labor ratio.Manufacturing industry scale's impact on division of the manufacturing value chain varies from different industries. In general, the blind expansion of the industry scale is not conducive to the deepening of the global division of the value chain, reducing the value chain trade gains, but will effectively promote the development of high-tech manufacturing industry, contributing to industrial agglomeration and manufacturing optimization and upgrading in the future. And the locking effect of the value chain division has little effect on the division of labor, but it obviously affects the income. Finally, this paper makes the policy suggestion, that the key to enhance the division of value chain in China include two ways.On the one hand, our government should give support to the development of producer service industry in China, invest more in the R&D of manufacturing technology and guide domestic and foreign capital flows to high-tech manufacturing industry. On the other hand, there is a need for a higher status in the international manufacturing industry market to promote more high-tech manufacturing industry to go out.
