An Evaluation And Analysis Of Tourism Efficiency Of The Provinces In Western Region

Tourism industry known as "Chaoyang industry,"said its development status is an important symbol of regional economic development The unique natural resources in the western region have brought great potential for the development of the tourism industry.Compared with the eastern region,the western region has lagged behind the economic development level,the location conditions,the public tourism concept and the tourism infrastructure.This paper will measure and compare the tourism efficiency of 12 provinces and autonomous regions in western China,analyze the influencing factors of tourism efficiency in western China,and put forward practical countermeasures and suggestions to improve the efficiency of tourism in western China and promote the rapid development of western tourism.This paper chooses and summarizes the research literature on the efficiency of tourism industry,and combines the input and output indicators with the development status of the western tourism industy,using DEA model to compare the comprehensive technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of tourism in the 12 provinces and autonomous regions in western region from 2004 to 2015.The results show that the overall technical efficiency of the tourism industry in the west is low and the downward trend is declining.The efficiency of tourism in 12 provinces and autonomous regions is quite different:the pure technical efficiency of Gansu and Xinjiang provinces is relatively low;the scale efficiency of Tibet,Ningxia and Qinghai provinces is low,the scale of compensation has been in an increasing state;Yunnan and Shaanxi provinces are paid in the state of diminishing returns.Finally,the panel data model of econometrics is used to identify the influencing factors of tourism efficiency in 12 provinces and autonomous regions in western region.The results show that the level of regional economic development and the convenience of transportation have the opposite effect on the efficiency of western tourism,while the investment in fixed assets,the condition of service,the scale of service development and the development of service industry have a positive effect on the improvement and improvement of tourism efficiency in western region.
