On City-industry Integration Under The Background Of New-type Urbanization

Since the beginning of reform and opening-up,many development zones have been built nationwide.At the preliminary stage of construction,the key tasks are to develop land resources and to attract as many projects as possible,in other words,urbanization of land and the industry.During planning,construction and development practices of the development zones,a problem gradually emerged.Most development zones focus on industrial development and ignore enhancement of social functions.As a result,in most development zones,city function improvement has been far lagged behind by industrial progress.The effect of industrialization to drive urbanization is small,and industrial progress is now independent from the urbanization course.Backwardness of city functions have retarded introduction of advanced technologies and talents to some extent and has hindered transformation and upgrade of the development zones.Considering the above situation,under the background of new-type urbanization,it’s of great practical significance to discuss how to improve cities’ social functions through city-industry integration,further to accelerate transformation and upgrade of industries of the development zones and to finally realize integrated progress of city and industry.This thesis has six parts.Part 1 is introduction,which mainly explains the background and significance of this study as well as the current situation of studies on city-industry integration in China and abroad.The second part is mainly on city fusion,the concept and connotation of new type of urbanization is defined,this paper discusses the new development of urbanization and city fusion intrinsic relationship,expounds the city fusion production related theoretical basis,including the location theory,industrial agglomeration theory,production integration of city development and theory of life cycle theory;The third part of the development course of the development zone in our country,a summary of our country development zone existing in the development of city integration production problems and their causes,and build the city of production integration development coordination degree evaluation model;In the fourth part,the case study is carried out in the zhejiang pujiang economic development zone,and the integration and coordination degree of the city is calculated,and the calculation results are analyzed.In the fifth part,the problems of the five aspects of the development of the city’s development in the economic development zone of jiangpu river are discussed.The sixth part reviews the main conclusions of this article.Part 6 is a summary.The study shows that most development zones in China face the pressure of transformation and upgrading.The old development model which highlights industrial development and pays little attention to urban progress has resulted in serious lack of human capital and social capital in the development zones.City-industry integration can promote optimization and upgrade f industries and coordinated development and improvement of city functions.Besides the above,city-industry integration also has many other functions.It can improve land use efficiency in the development zones.Land potential can be fully discovered,and the production space can be enlarged;it can help attract talents to the development zones.Thus,industrial development there can enjoy strong talent support;it can help improve city functions of the development zones and promote urbanization progress in an orderly manner;it can guide industries developing in sound steps,and drive upgrade of the industrial organizations.After studying Pujiang Economic Development Zone,the author found that though the coordination between urban development and industrial development of the development zone has been enhanced continuously,there are still problems.Therefore,most development zones in China including Pujiang Economic Development Zone should promote city-industry integration in order to realize upgrading.
