Empirical Studies On The Development And Influence Effect Of City-industry Integration From A Multi-scale Perspective

Since the reform and opening-up,China's urbanization and industrialization have developed rapidly,the city has continued to expand,and the population has accumulated a lot.This has led to problems such as the working place of urban population mismatching the dwelling,lack of living service facilities,urban traffic congestion and environmental pollution.How to realize the integration of industry and city has become the focus of attention from all walks of life.The integration of industry and city means that under the premise of people-oriented,the industry and the city match each other and are highly integrated.Industry is the foundation of urban development,and the city is the carrier of industrial development.Urban development is the result of the common development of industry,towns and population agglomeration.Carrying out research on the development of China's city-industry integration from different scales,and analyzing its impact effect,is conducive to clarifying the status and existing problems of China's city-industry integration,so as to take targeted measures to promote the development of city-industry integration and regional economic growth.This paper starts from four aspects:(1)With VAR Model,impulse response and variance decomposition analysis,this paper explores the dynamic effect of city-industry integration on the national scale based on the time series data from 1978 to 2016 at the national level.(2)Taking 31 provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)in China as the research objects,this paper uses the coupling coordination model to analyze the coordination degree of city-industry integration,reflecting the degree of coordination between industrial structure rationalization,advanced industrial structure and urbanization at the provincial level,and analyzes the differences in the eastern,central and western regions.(3)This paper selects 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta as the research object on the city scale,and constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system of the degree of city-industry integration from three dimensions:human orientation,industrial support and functional matching.Combining the entropy method and the coupling coordination degree model to measure the degree of city-industry integration of cities in the Yangtze River Delta,and analyze the current situations and existing problems of city-industry integration of these cities.(4)Based on the analysis of the influencing mechanism of city-industry integration on economic growth,the city panel measurement model was established to analyze the effect of city-industry integration on economic growth by using the data of the degree of city-industry integration of 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta.Through the above research,the paper draws the following conclusions:(1)There is a dynamic long-term equilibrium relationship between industrial structure changes and urbanization on the national scale,but the urbanization of the country lags behind the development of industrial structure,and the overall level of city-industry integration needs to be improved.(2)In general,the coordination degree of industry and city in various provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)in China shows a growing trend.The degree of coordination between the rationalization of industrial structure and urbanization in each province is higher than the coordination degree between advanced industrial structure and urbanization.However,there are obvious differences among the eastern,central and western regions.The coordination degree of industry and city in the eastern regions is higher than that in the central and western regions.(3)The overall level of city-industry integration of cities in the Yangtze River Delta is in a state of continuous rising,but the level of city-industry integration is also significantly different among the prefecture-level cities,showing that the provincial capital cities are higher than the non-provincial cities,and the coastal and riverside cities are higher than the inland cities.The people-oriented factor is an important factor that restricts the development of city-industry integration of cities in the Yangtze River Delta.(4)The city-industry integration plays a significant role in promoting urban economic development in the Yangtze River Delta.And there is a significant spatial spillover effect in the economic development of the Yangtze River Delta region.According to the research conclusions,the following recommendations are made:On the national scale,national industrial layout and urban planning should be considered together.On the provincial scale,the central and western provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)should refer to the regional endowment to develop leading industries,improve urban construction,and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with other regions to improve the level of city-industry integration.On the urban scale,the Yangtze River Delta region should expand the influence of central cities,adhere to the principle of people-oriented,and commit to the effective integration of industry,city and people.Based on the research results of many scholars,this paper has the following two possible innovations:(1)Innovation of research perspective.The integration of industry and city are analyzed on the national scale,provincial scale and urban scale respectively.From the macro level to the micro level,there is a certain innovation in the research perspectives.(2)The effect of city-industry integration on economic growth.At present,the research on the urban scale is mostly limited to measuring the city-industry integration degree,without further analyzing the effect of city-industry integration.Based on the detailed analysis of the influencing mechanism of city-industry integration on economic growth,this paper studies the impact of city-industry integration degree on economic growth in the Yangtze River Delta,and the research idea is innovative.
