An Empirical Analysis Of Willingness And Factors About Orchardists Behavior Of Growing Mulch Within The Apple Orchard In Arid Area Of The Loess Plateau

Living mulch in orchard has been widely applied in many areas as its an environmental friendly orchard management technique,Which can improve the soil nutrient,enhance the fruit quality and production,stimulate the development of Orchard microclimate.In this present study,agricultural technology communication,agricultural popularization and peasant behavior choice theory,combined with interview and investigation were performed on orchard area peasant in eastern Gansu loess plateau region and Tianshui hills,the empirical investigated and extent of apple application orchard living mulch technique in dry land of the Loess Plateau was elaborated.Meanwhile,we also analyzed peasant's aspiration of orchard living mulch and its influence factors using quantitative analysis,our investigation revealed problems and regional differences of orchard living mulch technique popularization in the orchard in dry land.Our study provides important theory and practical guiding significance for accelerating theoretical research,popularization and application of orchard living mulch technique for the orchard in dry land of the Loess Plateau.The main principal conclusions and findings from this study are as follow:1.The current implementation of planting orchard living mulch proportion in Qinyang loess plateau region is 23.8% and the proportion of peasant having aspiration for planting orchard living mulch is 36%,therefore orchard living mulch technique in dry land of eastern Gansu has a strong practical applications.There are six principle influence factors of planting orchard living mulch aspiration in Qinyang loess plateau region: the type of orchard(P<0.01),the peasant comprehension degree for orchard living mulch(P<0.01),can peasant get technical information timely(P<0.01),the householder's degree of education(P<0.05),the family main source of income(P<0.10)and orchard fruiter-age(P<0.10).2.The utility ratio of peasant living mulch technique in Tianshui hills region is 14.8%,and34% of peasant have planting living mulch aspiration.Moreover,this aspiration is significantlyaffected by the type of orchard(P<0.05),the peasant can get technical information at a time(P<0.10),the main utilization of cultivated land(P<0.05)and distance from the city centre(P<0.10)these four factors.3.The aspiration proportion of planting living mulch in dry land of the Loess Plateau is35.2%.And the type of orchard(P<0.01),can peasant get technical information timely(P<0.10)and the householder's degree of education(P<0.05)are significant positive influence on aspiration of planting orchard living mulch.However,the fruiter-age in orchard is significant negative affected.4.There is obvious regional difference on application of orchard living mulch in dry land of the Loess Plateau.It showed mainly in the orchard surface coverage type and proportion,the option of orchard grass species,the peasant realization of living mulch technique and the influence factor of living mulch technology aspiration.In conclusion,the householder's acknowledge and willingness about growing forage in orchard in Qinyang loess plateau region and Tianshui hills are effected by orchard types and whether householders were able to get the technical information in time.What is more,there have significant difference between two regions.
