Evaluation And Influencing Factors Of Silkworm Cocoon Production In Jiangsu

Since the beginning of the new century,the central rural work conference for several years has embodied the spirit of improving the efficiency of agricultural production and increasing the income of farmers.Silkworm cocoon industry,as an important part of China’s traditional agriculture,plays an important role in China’s foreign trade.However,since the financial crisis in 2008,there have been many problems such as excessive input of production factors,the decline of competitiveness and the enthusiasm of some local farmers.In this context,the research on the production efficiency of silkworm cocoon in our country is of great significance to improve the efficiency of silkworm cocoon production and promote the healthy development of silkworm cocoon industry.This paper first introduces the related theories,then analyzes China’s cocoon production status,on this basis,from the silkworm cocoon production in the process of input and output angle,based on the survey data in Dongtai city as the basis,using data envelopment analysis(DEA)to evaluate Jiangsu province silkworm cocoon production efficiency.Then the Empirical Analysis on the influencing factors of Jiangsu province silkworm cocoon production efficiency,finally puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the production efficiency of silkworm cocoon in Jiangsu province.The empirical results show that the overall efficiency of silkworm cocoon production in Jiangsu Province in 2015 is not high,pure technical efficiency is generally higher than the scale efficiency,scale efficiency is the main factor restricting the comprehensive efficiency of silkworm cocoon in Jiangsu province.On the other hand,the external effects of environmental factors on the comprehensive efficiency of cocoon industry in Jiangsu province is different,sericiculture income percentage of household income has a significant positive effect on Jiangsu province silkworm cocoon production efficiency,farmers’ age has a negative effect on Jiangsu province silkworm cocoon production,affecting the education years of Jiangsu Province silkworm cocoon production efficiency no significant.Aiming at the existing problems of silkworm cocoon industry in our province,this article from the perspective of sericulture departments,industry associations and farmers,are proposed to enhance the production efficiency of Jiangsu province silkworm cocoon industry policy recommendations: Sericulture sector to increase the agricultural science and technology investment,service of sericulture industry;to guide farmers specialized production,expand business scale;guide young farmers to join the silkworm cocoon production;industry associations to improve their technical level,establish the awareness of the market;develop sericulture professional talents,promote scientific and technological achievements;to explore the labor culture mode,improve the technological innovation ability of sericulture.Farmers should improve their professional quality,at the same time,we should allocate agricultural resources reasonably and improve the level of resource utilization.
