Our shipping business has experienced a rapid rise after the reform and opening-up policy, and China has become a maritime power all around the world in just a few decades. With a continued depression of the International Shipping Market, enterprises are facing the situation of realignment and recombination. Moreover, with an increasing pressure and market competition, promoting the core competence of enterprises has become the foothold for small and medium-sized shipping enterprises. As the primary productive force, human resources have become the key factors of core competitiveness of enterprises and the trend of establishing a scientific and effective personnel training system has become the core problem which the enterprises focus on.This paper takes SC Ship Management Co., Ltd. as an example to make case analysis. SC is a small and medium privately-owned enterprise. With a comparatively sound business philosophy and a ship managerial and technical team, the company wins a place in the ship market in the aspect of company scale and market reputation, and it is well known in Southeast Asia. By enumerating the three typical cases of SC, the problem of employment shortage in the period of managing strategic transformation is elaborated and the existing problem of personnel training is deeply analyzed. Besides, according to the management theory of modern human resources, the knowledge management, the requirement theory, the motivation theory as well as the management practice, this paper proposes a specific solution about how to deal with the problem of SC personnel training.In structure, there are totally three parts in the paper: In the first part, the general situation and human resources situation of SC are introduced. Besides, the personnel training problem is elaborated by listing three typical cases. In the second part, a deep analysis is made based on the relative theories of human resources. While in the third part, combining the enterprising development strategy with the actual situation of SC, the solutions and advises are proposed.According to the above, this paper has made an intensive study of the management theories of personnel training by specific cases studies; therefore, this paper is of great significance in both theoretical studies and practical references.
