In 2001,through decades of efforts,China has finally become a member of the WTO,which marked a new period that China entered,and China's economy has gained great power since then.Total amount of foreign trade of our country continues to increase over decades.In the past foreign cooperation was just operating within single economic area,now it has extended to many all-round cooperation at multiple levels.But the trade and the friction always exist at the same time.After the financial crisis,to stimulate the economic development and shake off the impact of the crisis,many countries chose to use trade remedy measures,and trade protectionism is coming back.China has become the hardest hit areas of anti-dumping.Based on combing the relevant research,this paper first introduces the theoretical basis of dumping and anti-dumping,and the historical development of anti-dumping,and summarizes the general characteristics of anti-dumping in contemporary world,which are,(1)most cases concerns base metals and chemicals;(2)developing countries are most investigated and are becoming the mainstay of the launching of anti-dumping.Then,this paper focuses on the analysis of the situation and characteristics of China's anti-dumping investigation over the past two years.It is found that the proportion of investigation and initiated investigation in China is seriously uneven comparing to China's economic status in the world,while other features are in line with the characteristics of anti-dumping around the world.In addition,from the aspect of ADI indicators,the absolute number of anti-dumping investigations in China,although the increase,but the ADI declines which means that the trade environment for China is getting better.Then the article analyzes the various causes of the anti-dumping investigation initiated by the United States against China through the negative binomial regression model.It is found that the US domestic economic situation,the RMB and the US dollar exchange rate,and China's imports from the United States and China's international status have had a significant impact on the number of US anti-dumping investigations initiated against China.Finally,the article briefly analyzes the impact of anti-dumping on a country's economy,and puts forward policy suggestions from three levels: government,industry association and enterprise.
