Research On Co-agglomeration And Synergetic Development Between Logistics Industry And Manufacturing Industry In Guangdong Province

Since the Reform and Opening policy was executed,Guangdong Province has been an important position in the development of China's manufacturing industry.However,in recent years,cost advantages losing and manufacturing factor being low value-added have become the hinder of Manufacturing development in Guangdong.Slowdowns of Guangdong's economic growth have shown up,which means it is stepping into the New Normal stage.In this situation,realizing co-agglomeration between Logistics Industry and Manufacturing Industry is beneficial for promoting industrial upgrading and optimizing industrial structure and cultivate a new economic growth pole.Based on what mentioned above,this research is about the co-agglomeration between Logistics Industry and Manufacturing Industry of Guangdong Province.The main research contents are as follow:First of all,taking a review of synergetic development study and co-agglomeration study and presenting a view that co-agglomeration of Logistics Industry and Manufacturing Industry is a vital stage of synergetic development between them.Secondly,making a qualitative analysis about the current situation of Logistics Industry development,Manufacturing Industry development and the synergetic development between them.Thirdly,measuring the agglomeration of industry and geography by Location Quotient Index,Spatial Gini Coefficient and EG Index and estimating the fit of co-agglomeration between these two industries.Fourthly,establishing two empirical models based on the simultaneous equation to test the co-agglomeration effect of these two industries.Finally,raise suggestions given above studies.According to the research,industrial and geographic agglomeration of Logistics Industry and Manufacturing Industry in Guangdong are showing steadily upward trend,but there are still some gaps existing.in these two industries.Location Quotient Index of Logistics Industry is smaller than that of Manufacturing Industry which means Logistics Industry's professional degree unmatched Manufacturing Industry's development.EG Index of these two industries shows that Logistics Industry is mainly concentrated in urban area while Manufacturing Industry is mainly concentrated in rural area.Moreover,there is an unbalanced co-agglomeration relationship between these two Industries,that agglomeration of Logistics Industry makes significantly positive effect on agglomeration of Manufacturing Industry while agglomeration of Logistics Industry makes no significantly effect on Manufacturing Industry.The level of economic development and the scale of the city will make this kind of co-agglomeration in different regions show different characteristics.Trade cost is also a vital factor for improving agglomeration of these two industries.
