Case Work Intervention In The Employment Service For Physically Disabled People

Statistics from China Disabled Persons' Federations show that in 2015 the total number of disabled people in China has reached 85 million,accounting for 6.21% of the total population,among which 24.12 million are physically disabled,accounted for 29.07% in disabled population,involving nearly 60 million households.Employment is vital for people's livelihood,the number of physically disabled population is increasing,but the employment rate is merely about 25% of employment.For the moderately disabled in physics,employment is the basic way to fundamentally improve the their living conditions and social status so as to equally participate in social life and achieve their social value.All along,employment services for the disabled carried out by our government and non-governmental organizations show obvious defects in work concept and methods because the disabled are still regarded as group with problems.In order to better promote the employment of disabled people,case work intervention in the employment of the disabled is of great significance by developing the advantage and potential of the clients.The research object of this paper are the moderately disabled in physics.Based on social support theory and advantage perspective,the paper aims at developing the potentials and advantages of the client,expanding the social support network for the group,improving their working skill and finding solutions to the problems of their employment in order to assist the clients achieves social reintegration.The paper consists of five parts.The first part introduces the reason and significance of case work intervention in the employment service for the physically disabled and then gives a literature review at home and abroad and introduces the research methodology.The second part elaborates related concepts about employment service for the physically disabled and case work intervention.It also further explains the research object of this paper is not over generalized disabled people but those who have moderate physical disability.The third part introduces the employment service in Peony community where the author got internship.The fourth part is the practical analysis of case work involved,and describes the process and contents of case work intervention.The author also makes analysis of the interview clips with Wang Dayong and the specific activities involved in employment service for the client.The last chapter is conclusion and discussion part.Case work intervention in the disabled employment service is affirmed first in the conclusion part and problems in the work process are also discussed and finally suggestions are put forward on how to improve such service.
