In the global apparel value chain,at the top of the value chain is the design and marketing,while the production and processing category is in the bottom of the value chain.China's garment industry is currently at the lowest end of the global value chain,facing a large number of orders outflow,the production center transferred to Southeast Asia and other risks,industrial upgrading is bound to face the trend.At the same time,Chinese enterprises have to face domestic production costs,rising labor costs,decreased spending power,profit margins are compressed,increased business risk and other factors.Based on the theory of competitive advantage,Porter's value chain theory and supplier management theory,the optimization strategy of supplier's supplier management strategy has become a tool for enterprises to win in fierce competition.This paper takes A Clothing Company for example,first introduced A Clothing Company and its garment industry is facing the overview of A Clothing Company faced by the competitive landscape,the supplier's business scope and supplier advantage.The study shows that the problem of supplier management in A Clothing Company is that the supplier management system is not complete,the second is the lack of uniform and perfect supplier standards,and the other is the difficulties of supplier maintenance.The reason is that the concept of supplier management is weak,the supplier quantified the performance appraisal link is weak and the supplier incentive and control link is weak.Finally,the author developed a supplier management optimization program for A clothing company.First,build the supplier management index system,including product quality indicators(Quality),product cost indicators(Cost),on time delivery rate(On Time Delivery)and the supplier's service indicators(Service);second,the establishment of Perfect supplier standards;third,the implementation of the supplier's maintenance program.
