| Local industry is a prerequisite for promoting the healthy development of regional economy. Its ability to resist and adapt to the impact of internal and external environment has increasingly become the focus of economic geographers.Especially after the outbreak of the international financial crisis in 2008,the proposition related to local industry resilience has been increasing.Existing research on industry resilience mainly concentrated in two aspects, one is the scholars define the connotation of industry resilience from different perspectives, one is a simple analysis ofthe influence factors of economic resilience. However, there is little research on the quantitative analysis of the factors affecting the local industry resilience, and it has not yet formed a complete theoretical framework for influencing factors. In view of this, this study selects the export-oriented,China traditional industries of textile and garment industry based on the data of statistical yearbook,China industrial enterprise database,CCPIT TEX,industry reports and on-the-spot investigation as an example to obtain relevant data,by combining both qualitative analysis and quantitative regression to study the spatial differences, influencing factors and mechanism of the economic resilience on China’s textile and garment industry. The results show that employees’ compensation and welfare, industrial concentration, the proportion of young enterprises, and unrelated variety have a significant positive effect on the economic resilience of textile and garment industry. While the related variety, the proportion of product exports and industrial specialization level have no significant impact on the ability of resilience. The theoretical contribution of this article is to emphasize the importance of the salary and welfare of employees and the young enterprise to enhance the resilience of the local industry, and criticize the idea that the bigger the export share is,the more difficult the local industry is to resist the international financial crisis. In addition, this study indicates that the level of specialization can not be generalized to the impact of economic resilience, and the quality of agglomeration should be considered. Finally, this study shows that the local enterprises should pay more attention to staff salaries and benefits, promote the upgrading of industry innovation, and attach importance to the development of industrial diversification. At the same time, the government should increase the cultivation and support of entrepreneurship, encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, formulate and improve relevant rules and regulations, and strive to provide superior business environment for the development of local industry. |
