Research On Development Strategy Of Thailand Bangkok Tourism

Tourism industry continues to grow rapidly,especially in Thailand in which tourism sector growth plays a dominant role in economic and social development.It brings in a significant amount of national income received in foreign currencies.It also assists in increasing the employment rate and decentralization.Furthermore,tourism growth takes part in infrastructure planning and transport development,trade,and investment.When the country struggles with recession,income from tourism sectors helps in economy' recovery in a shorter period comparing to those from the manufacturing sectors or even with those from other service sectors.However,competition in the tourism industry tends to be more intense.Also the trend of tourism has changed substantially.Besides,the sensitivity of the tourism sector from negative domestic and international factors is not easy to avoid.Bangkok serves as Thailand's capital for 234 years.The city of Bangkok has been consistently developed into a civilized city since its establishment.The road of transformation from a small city to the renowned metropolis has been led by the development policies which have always been adapted to keep the policies up-to-date.The goal is to maintain the balance between urban life and a serene atmosphere for living since the present time to the future.As a result of constant development,Bangkok is a primate city.It is the administration,economy,education,cultural,and transportation center.There are abundant reasons why tourists choose Bangkok as their destination;the variety of tourist attractions,unique culture,and the friendliness and hospitality of Thai people.Thai people are known for their generousness and kindness.These characters are 'Thainess' that have been cultivated from generations to generations.Thais live as a family and this atmosphere also has been passed to the tourists,give them warmth and the feeling like home,no feeling like a stranger.All of these things motivate the writer to study the tourism development situation and the tourism-related problems in Bangkok.Also the writer had done the research to figure out the solution for those problems.The first section of the thesis will explain the definition of tourism and sustainable development theory.The second section is about the general tourism situation in different levels;world,Thailand,and Bangkok tourism situation,follow by the part of the analytic chapters of current tourism situation in Bangkok andthe tourism problems in Bangkok.The third section focuses on the content on Bangkok tourism industry which had been analyzed by SWOT theory.The last section suggests the solution to the problems and analysis of strategy development to improve Thailand tourism industry and reduce the number of tourism problems in Bangkok area.This study will impact on leveraging tourism and attract more foreign tourists to Bangkok.It is aimed to satisfy and impress foreign tourists with their trips in Bangkok.All of these will affect directly on country's income which a part of it comes from the tourism in Bangkok.
