Modern society depends largely on new urbanization development.High level of socio-economic development has brought a firm platform for urbanization development in Zhejiang Province over the years. The urbanization rate in Zhejiang Province in 2011 exceeds national average goal of urbanization rate in 2020;in 2017,the urbanization rate in Zhejiang Province increased to 67%.However,the high urbanization rate in Zhejiang Province relies on intense incremental land expropriation, which leads to serious land expropriation conflicts(LEC).It has replaced peasant's economic burden to become a primary social problem that triggers more social risks over the past decade. The LEC in Zhejiang Province has been faced with intricate situation and conflict escalation has occurred recently. The first and the second instances of administrative litigation cases of LEC in Zhejiang Province have increased suddenly after 2013 and the traditional single solution of LEC is not suitable to current situation anymore. As a developed coastal province with high standard of urbanization development, typical significance and value would be produced by researching on the intervention mechanism of land expropriation conflict escalation(LECE).Research on driving mechanisms of LEC has been a hot spot of geographic information science and social science research these years.Rich study on driving mechanisms, conflict escalation and control strategies of LEC can be collected. However, the limitations of existing research are apparent. The first one is that research perspectives are synchronic and unidirectional.Studies are limited to single-case analysis and empirical conclusion, which cannot provide scientific data and practical guidance to policy maker.Secondly, regarding administrative procedure acts as the conflict eruption nodes to collect and classify data of LEC ignore judicial organ's causal judgment of LEC's nature and procedure.Thirdly, lacking of a systematic research of LECE goes against with making a perfect intervention mechanism. It is anticipated that establishing a LECE spatial-temporal evolution database of the first and the second instances of administrative litigation cases in Zhejiang Province from 2006-2015 by using Remote Sensing technology and Geographic Information System technology could help to clarify the factors and driving mechanisms of LECE to give a further investigation of LECE interventionalmechanism. It is a key research to solve the spatial conflict and provide governance policies of LEC.Besides, the LECE spatial-temporal evolution database establishment in Zhejiang Province is benefit to establish LECE spatial-temporal evolution databases of west, middle and east area to investigate LECE's spatial-temporal evolution laws in China.LECE spatial-temporal evolution database in Zhejiang Province consists of necessary information of 672 administrative litigation cases of the first and the second instances from 2006-2015.It investigates LECE's spatial-temporal evolution laws based on conflict escalation theory of political ecology. The thesis studies driving mechanisms of LECE in Zhejiang Province from culture, economy, policy and environment aspects by means of literature research,two-value logistic regression and spatial-temporal data analysis.According to the research,it finds that: a)on the time scale, the first and the second instances of administrative litigation cases showed an increased trend from 2006 to 2015 in Zhejiang Province.Bursting points of the first instance of administrative litigation cases was 2014 and the second instance of administrative litigation cases was 2013.On the space scale,Hangzhou and Ningbo gathered the largest number of administrative litigation cases in Zhejiang Province.b)From the perspective of driving mechanisms,it shows that catering service area, urbanization rate and expressway are the key driving factors which belong to culture-driven,policy-driven and environment-driven.c)Building the intervention mechanisms led by culture-driven,policy-driven and environment-driven help to alleviate LECE and maintain social stability.
