Our country has become the world's largest energy consumer, and its total primary energy consumption accounts for about 22%of the world's primary energy consumption. From 1995 to 2009,China's intermediate input energy consumption has increased more than 2.5 times, which has reached 86.96%of the total energy consumption.Energy,as a kind of direct and indirect inputs,is applied in the production of export.Trade essentially belongs to the exchange of energy and resources.Energy used by export grow rapidly, which will not only directly increase the cost of production, but the environmental problems caused by the social costs. Those all will eventually have an negative effect on China's export competitiveness. Therefore,it is of practical significance to analyze export competitiveness from the perspective of energy. This article is based on the global industrial chain analysis method, and employ Intercountry input-output model between countries(ICIO)framework and uses the WIOD data, and rebuild methods of the export embodied energy,to analyze china's manufacture embodied energy.Meanwhile, this paper come up with new energy intensity combined with the added value export. We divide manufacture industry into three teams based on the new energy intensity to analyze the structure of China's export advantage. At the same time,we build revealed comparative advantage index form embodied energy(ERCA)to reflect the disadvantages.By comparing with the revealed comparative advantage index based on added value perspective, this paper analyzes the export competitiveness of China's manufacturing industry. The research results show:(1)the export embodied energy in China's manufacture during the study period increased rapidly, which increased by 265.93%;embodied energy accounts for up to 17.59 percent of total energy consumption, which reflects that energy is the important support element to our country's exports.(2)although China's manufacturing intensity of export embodied energy show a rapid decline, but energy intensity is still at a high level when compared with the developed countries and energy efficiency is low;According to the intensity of energy to make a industrial division,it was found that China's export advantage structure is mainly concentrated in the low energy consumption industry.Despite of this, the high embodied energy intensity industry has remained to accounted for more than 30%of export embodied energy.(3)Finally,the ERCA index of China's manufacturing sector is more than 1 and shows a decreasing trend in the period.Through comparing the ERCA and VRCA index,we can find that China's manufacturing industry basically shows the remarkable characteristics of ERCA>VRCA,and the ratio between the ERCA and the VRCA in the median and high embodied-energy intensity industries are remaining high, which further demonstrates that through lots of energy input promote the export competitiveness of manufacturing in China. Finally, according to the empirical results,we put forward the corresponding policy recommendations to further promote the energy market reform and promote technological progress and improve energy efficiency and continue to adjust the export structure.
