Research On Dominant Enterprise's Technology Leadership Evolution In The Modular Innovation Network

In recent years,electronics,communications and computers as the representative of the information technology innovation has innovated constantly and developed rapidly.The traditional integrated production mode is gradually replaced by the modular production mode,and the industrial organization form is showing a trend of modular network.In the network,the dominant enterprises are actively exploring the core technology,advanced technology,and constantly looking for or adjusting the development direction of the innovation network;meanwhile,they are rectifying possible behavioral deviations caused by other enterprises promptly,so that the entire network behavior and decision may maintain coordination and consistency.In this process,the dominant enterprises play a role of technology leaders and coordinators in the network innovation activities.Therefore,under the popular modular production mode background,it is significant both in theory and practice to discuss dominant enterprises' technology leadership in the modular innovation network to promote the healthy and rapid development of network and to improve their technology leadership.Based on the literature review and theoretical analysis,the dominant enterprise's technology leadership in the modular innovation network was defined,and its structure was analyzed from the three level of enterprise,platform and industry.Based on the technical leadership structure,this paper constructs the indicator system of technology leadership.This indicator system selected nine indexes of R&D ability,technology and product architecture ability and technical standards formulated ability to quantify these three kinds of ability specifically,which provides a new perspective for the evaluation of the dominant enterprise's technology leadership in the modular innovation network.In addition,We built the triple helix model of R&D ability,technology and product architecture ability and technical standards formulated ability,and revealed the evolution mechanism and regularity of the triple helix pattern of technology leadership structure.We can offer specific guidance to dominant enterprises to enhance their technical leadership with the help of this structure model.The empirical application of Huawei shows that the indicator system is feasible.The modular innovation network dominant enterprises' technology leadership indicator system may provide some guidance in the development of these companies,s technology leadership and as a tool to analyse enterprises' technology leadership similar to Huawei.Then we tested the theory analysis based on the sample case of the mobile phone modularization innovation network in Huawei.The study shows that the dominant enterprise's technology leadership is increasing as the modular innovation network evolves,and at the different stage of the modular innovation network evolution,the dominant ability of the technology leadership structure is different.The research has the important enlightenment for the dominant enterprise to promote coordinated development of the three abilities and improve technology leadership in the modular innovation network.
