In 1978,there is a turning point in economic and social development. The household contract responsibility system for joint production provides institutional guarantee for the heterogeneity of farmers' development.Because of the seasonality of agricultural activities,it is possible for farmers to do concurrent activities in order to achieve optimal allocation of resource.Gaps in return on investment between agricultural and non-agricultural labor, which make rural households, rational people, enrich the income of the primary industry, the day-by,led to the differentiation of rural households. With the expansion of labor resource and scale, under the national environment for promoting accurate poverty alleviation and supply-side structural reform of agricultural policy, selecting Zhaotong,a national poverty-stricken area,as a sample to study the influencing factors of rural household differentiation,is a supplement to the research on part-time farming behaviors in poor areas and a certain practical significance for rural households to get rid of poverty. In order to study the influencing factors of rural households' differentiation, the article is based on the review of domestic and foreign literature, define the concepts and explain the theories;outline the status of concurrent business in China, identify a sample contains 975 households from 9 villages in Zhaotong, expand the analysis of the basic situation of rural households in Zhaotong, pointed out four types of differentiation of rural households in the area(agricultural households, agricultural concurrent households,non-agricultural concurrent households,non-agricultural households)and 4 problems occurred in the process of farmers' differentiation:First, the overall quality of the workforce is poor;Second, men dominate farmers concurrent and have low technical skills in the industry;Third, the land use rate is low and the phenomenon of “leaving the hometown without separated from the cultivation” is prominent;Last, social security and service system are not perfect. In order to ensure the logic and scientific later,it has verified that “farmers division contributes to the income of farmers”.Based on this assumption,a total of 13 variables are selectedfrom the internal and external factors to constitute an indicator system. After making the descriptive statistical analysis and correlation test of the sample data, reference the idea of the two-stage model to perform logistic regression analysis on the data. The first stage analyze the impact of the variables on “whether or not to make a part-time behavior”,and the second stage analyze “influencing factors of different types of farmer",test the goodness-of-fit for the results, verify the explanatory power of the results. Then, analyzing the results of the model, the following conclusions are drawn:First, the same changes in family structure and population size;Second, positive changes in the level of human capital to farmers' concurrent;Third, the satisfaction of farmers' agricultural activities restrains the peasant household;Last, the location of farmers' villages provides convenience of farmers' concurrent.Combining with theoretical analysis and drawing lessons from experience of domestic and foreign regions,Japan, the United States, and Suzhou, policy implications for the promotion of concurrent rural households in Zhaotong are proposed: First, train practical ability, and improve the quality of education,;Second, develop township enterprises, increase non-agricultural employment opportunity;Third, agricultural mechanization and scale management of agriculture, foster new type of professional farmers;Forth, perfect social security system, enhance the quality of social services. Finally, point out the shortcomings and prospects of the study.
