China's basic national conditions are many people but land resources are scarce. The implementation of a land use method with a small footprint and high utilization efficiency is a fundamental principle that the country has long insisted on.At present,China is in the critical period of building a well-off society in an all-round way.During the process of rapid urbanization, there have been many problems in the use of land resources, especially construction land.Promoting the economical intensive use of land will be good for the development of the national economy.Shanxi Province is also in the process of rapid urbanization. The rapid expansion of cities has led to the continuous expansion of construction land, coupled with the extensive use of industrial and mining construction land outside the urban area. The phenomenon has further intensified the contradiction between man and land. This extensive and inefficient use of construction land needs to be transformed. This paper uses the DPSIR model to build the index system based on the relevant construction land data and socioeconomic data from 2011 to 2015 in 11 major cities in Shanxi Province. The model divides a natural system's evaluation index into five types: driving forces, pressure, state, impact, and response. Each type covers some relative indicators. This indicator system can reflect the relationship between land use and the ecological environment very well.TOPSIS(Technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution)method is used to analyze and evaluate the economical intensive use of urban construction land based on the core idea of finding the effective distance between the sample value and the optimal and worst value in the TOPSIS method.Based on the evaluation results,we selected those cities with low intensive levels, combined the research results of "a typical land-saving technology and model applicability study and paradigm design",and used cities with similar economic development models as a reference.By analyzing the research results of “typical land-saving technology and model applicability study and paradigm design”,we seek for land-saving technologies for cities with low intensive levels.By summing up successful land-saving models, these cities can provide improved ideas and approaches for these inefficient cities.By summing up the successful land-saving model,we provide these low-level cities with ideas and ways to improve.(1)During our research period, the average level of economical intensive use of urban construction land in various cities in Shanxi Province has been improved significantlty. Those cities lever has steadily increased such as city of Taiyuan,Datong,Yangquan,Changzhi,Luzhou, and Lvliang.Especially the level of intensive use of land in Datong,Yangquan, and Luliang has increased obviously.Other cities such as Jincheng,Quzhou,Jinzhong,Yuncheng, and Linyi experienced fluctuations in the level of intensive use of land, but the overall level is still rising.Spatially, those cities with higher intensive distribution are located in the southeast and northeastern provinces of Shanxi Province, such as City of Luzhou City and Datong. The lever of intensive use about urban construction in City of Lvliang and Yangquan City in the west is relatively low.(2)By using the core ideas of positive and negative ideal solutions in the TOPSIS method and analyzing the distribution of the urban index scores in the positive and negative ideal solution coordinates,we can see that the lever of economical intensive use of urban construction land can be divided into four levels. These four score levels correspond to four levels of urban intensive levels. Most of these cities are located on the second and third levels, the city of Taiyuan is at the highest level, and Lvliang is at the lowest level.(3)We use DPSIR model and TOPSIS method to analyze the economical intensive level of urban construction land.In this way can we reduce the subjective impact, and get the more scientific evaluation result.
