Since the reform and opening up,China has been taking economic construction as the center, but it has long been paid attention to efficiency and neglected distribution. Its performance is the widening of the income gap between urban and rural areas, which ultimately affects the social harmony and stability and the construction of a well-off society in an all-round way.On the other hand, the development of China’s transportation infrastructure in the past more than and 20 years is also the same,in which the highway and railway operating mileage change is the most obvious. This article is to study the use of different methods of measurement of the above two variables.Firstly, this paper describes the current situation of urban and rural income gap and the development of transportation infrastructure, and the related literature and theoretical basis. Then, the paper analyzes the relationship between urban and rural income inequality, poverty and income, which is represented by Gini coefficient, through the economic growth. In the aspect of theoretical research, firstly, the paper studies the relationship between transportation infrastructure construction and economic growth from the two angles of view and research method, and then combs the relationship between economic growth and income gap.In the theoretical aspect, this article from the short-term and long-term macro and micro path path feedback path of the three route to study the relationship between transport infrastructure and economic growth, the family and the enterprise location, economic growth and economic circle, extrusion and multiplier effect,short-term and long-term space into effect in an analysis within the framework of.In the traffic infrastructure and the gap of income distribution theory, the article cites the Amartya Sen’s theory of ability poverty, poverty and income in relation to analyze the inherent mechanism of transportation infrastructure conditions on the distribution of income. Finally, the paper summarizes the direct and indirect effects of transportation infrastructure on the income gap between urban and rural areas. The empirical study is divided into two parts. In the first part, the dynamic panel model is used to analyze the impact of the highway, railway and its corresponding operating efficiency on the income gap between urban and rural areas. It is worth mentioning that the symbols of the first and two lags of the explanatory variables are inconsistent. The second part is the main contents of this paper are introduced in this paper, the present situation of our country and space transportation infrastructure regional econometric historical background, through the Moran value and Lisa index test and the spatial correlation between all provinces in China and its characteristics. The overall effect, direct effect, indirect effect, time, category and a series of in-depth regression, comprehensively draw different kinds and different period, the influence of traffic infrastructure on the income gap between urban and rural areas. In the last chapter, the author puts forward some suggestions on how to solve the income gap between urban and rural areas.Specifically,China’s transportation infrastructure overall to narrow the urban-rural income gap can play a positive effect, but the railway facilities than highway facilities exist excessive development, and in 2001 after the expansion did not effectively curb the income gap between urban and rural areas. In addition, three or four roads in the township and village highway which can significantly reduce the income gap between urban and rural areas. And the one or two highway is the opposite. The suggestion part, this paper puts forward corresponding points and the different regions to distinguish and treat the development of all types of transportation infrastructure;government and transportation departments in different regions should further strengthen the transport infrastructure among adjacent regions,in the construction and improvement of some cross regional transport infrastructure, plan well ahead of the corresponding regional transportation cooperation agreement to promote the development of rural economy, the provinces and cities in the two while promoting economic prosperity and development,so as to really play a role in narrowing the urban-rural income gap.
