With the rapid development of China's economy,all industries have made great progress.However,the problems caused by the low-tech and extensive economic development are also becoming increasingly prominent.In the era of knowledge economy,technological innovation plays a crucial role in the development of enterprises,regions,and industries.The ability of independent R&D and innovation attracts attention.The country attaches great importance to the investment in technological innovation and puts forward expectations and plans for industrial development and upgrading.Based on the research results of scholars and the analysis of classical theories,this article defines industrial upgrading as increasing the proportion of high-tech industries'output value to industrial added value,selecting panel data of each province-level region from 2005 to 2015 as a sample,and analyzing autonomy through empirical analysis.Innovate the specific role of various variables in industrial upgrading.Then,the samples were divided into the eastern,central and western regions,and empirical analysis was conducted for different regions of economic development.The results of empirical analysis show that patents,R&D expenditures,high-tech product development inputs,and energy consumption have a significant impact on industrial upgrading;the role of high-tech products in the eastern region is more pronounced,and the impact on the central and western regions It is not significant;R&D personnel input has a significant impact on the central and western regions,but the impact on industrial upgrading in the eastern region is not obvious.Combined with the empirical results,this article proposes related policy recommendations in the final section.
