| A large number of research results show that industrial agglomeration can effectively accelerate regional economic growth and thus enhance regional competitiveness.However,as the economy develops to a new stage,regional competitiveness is more and more influenced not only by economic factors while the ecological environment and the life quality of residents weigh in the regional competition.In this way,when discussing the impact of industrial agglomeration of actual regions on regional competitiveness,the congested effects brought about by industrial agglomeration may have different effects on the ecological environment and the quality of life of residents,thus making this problem more complicated.Based on this,this study explores the impact of industrial agglomeration on regional competitiveness of Fujian Province,and make proposals which can further develop industrial agglomeration and enhance regional competitiveness.First of all,this study makes a review of previous research and puts forward comments,theoretically elaborating why industrial agglomeration can influence regional competitiveness.Secondly,this study constructs a more reasonable evaluation index system for industrial agglomeration and regional competitiveness of Fujian Province in a way factor analysis,grey correlation model and other methods are used to empirically analyze the industrial agglomeration condition and regional competitiveness of Fujian Province,as well as the relationship among industrial agglomeration,regional competitiveness and the three common factors of regional competitiveness.Third,this study designs an accurate and reasonable regression model to discuss how industrial agglomeration of Fujian Province influences its regional competitiveness and the three common factors of regional competitiveness.Finally,based on former analysis,this study gives advice on the view of policy suggestions aimed to improve the industrial agglomeration and regional competitiveness of Fujian Province.The main ideas of this study are listed as follows.From 1998 to 2016 in Fujian Province,the industrial agglomeration and regional competitiveness all showed a trend of rise after a slow decline.Not until 2005 did the industrial agglomeration have a significant and positive effect on regional competitiveness.Industrial agglomeration has always had a significant positive influence on the economic strength factor.The influence of industrial agglomeration on environment and education crowding is complex with multiple structural changes.In particular,industrial agglomeration continued to increase in the final stage which will cause environmentaldegradation from the perspective of living quality and educational resources.From 1998 to 2012,industrial agglomeration had a significant positive influence on the cost of living factors.After2012,the excessive industrial agglomeration shows a significant negative influence as a result of rising cost of living.According to those empirical conclusions,first of all,promoting the agglomeration of advantageous industries,and the gathering of modern manufacturing,high-tech industries,and modern service industries,and optimizing the agglomeration industrial structure,would improve the regional competitiveness;secondly,we can vigorously cultivate innovation capabilities rely on strengthening the training of scientific research personnel,increasing research funding,promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements,to promote industrial agglomeration and enhance regional competitiveness;Finally,efforts should be made to overcome the negative impact of industrial agglomeration,such as improving environmental quality and educational environment,suppressing the relative increase in the urban relative cost of living,then the regional competitiveness of Fujian province will get a further progress. |
