Research On The Development Trend And Cooperation Focus Of Iran Mining Industry

Iran is a Middle Eastern country.In terms of geography,Iran has a very important geo-strategic position in the south of the Caspian Sea,in the the north of Persian Gulf,following the Strait of Hormuz.At the same time,Iran's economic size and total population rank second in the Middle East,and it has the potential to become a powerful industrialized country.With the improvement of the international environment and the strong national support for mining development,Iran's mining industry has very good prospects.Since the proposal of the "One Belt and One Road*initiative of China,Iran has shown positive cooperation as the meeting point of the "Maritime Silk Road" and the "Land Silk Road".As a pillar industry of Iran's economy,mining industry will be full of cooperation opportunities.From the angle of mining development,this paper systematically summarizes the mineral resources endowment,the current situation of exploration and development,the smelting and processing and the related trade of mineral resources in Iran,and analyzes its future development trend.Combined with Iran's own development plan and related institutional predictions,this paper analyzes and forecasts the supply and demand situation of energy and major metals in Iran in 2030,based on the"S" pattern of per capita mineral resources demand and GDP per capita.Based on the comprehensive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the Iran mining investment environment,this paper establishs the evaluation system of the Iran provincial mining investment environment to screen the key areas of the Iran mining cooperation.At last,the present situation of Chinese enterprises' investment in Iran mining field is analyzed in detail,and in reference to the research results of mineral resources supply and demand situation and the evaluation of mining investment,some suggestions on the cooperation of Chinese enterprises in Iran's mining investment are put forward.The following conclusions can be concluded:(1)lIran is rich in mineral resources.Oil,gas,iron,copper,lead and zinc,chromium and gold are all the dominant mineral resources.(2)Iran is the main mineral resource exploration and development country in the Middle East.Mineral exploration is mainly concentrated in oil,copper,gold,lead-zinc and other minerals.(3)Iran is one of the largest producers of mineral resources in the world.Its output of oil,iron,copper and zinc ranks highest in the world.Iran's mineral smelting and processing capacity is in the leading position in the Middle East,but there is still room for improvement.Iran's mineral resources trade is mainly exported,and the export of oil and gas resources is the main source of foreign exchange income,and the Asian market represented by China is the main export destination of Iran mineral resources.(4)It is estimated that the growth of Iran's economy and population will further promote the consumption of domestic mineral resources.With reference to Iran's domestic development planning,Iran's energy and major metal production capacity is growing rapidly.In the case of meeting domestic demand,Iran can still export 1.4 billion tons of oil,100 billion cubic meters of natural gas,18 million tons of crude steel,1000 thousand tons of aluminum and 500 thousand tons of refined copper in 2030,and Iran will become a major energy and metal supply power in the world at that time.(5)Overall,the advantages of Iran mining investment environment are still greater than disadvantages.,Khuzestan Province,Yazd Province,Bushehr Province,Kerman Province,Khorasan Province,Fars Province,Isfahan Province,Eastern Azerbaijan Province are the best areas for mining investment in Iran.It is suggested that Chinese enterprises seize the opportunity of Iran's mining industry and actively cooperate.The mining cooperation between China and Iran commenced from three constituencies in the Persian Gulf region,the north-south zone of Zagros,and the "China-Central Asia-West Asia" economic corridor.It is suggested that Iran's oil and gas,iron,copper,lead,zinc and other high quality mineral resources be taken as the core to diversify the cooperation in the mining industry.The cooperation field involves the exploration and development of oil and gas fields and mines,the construction of the peripheral smelters,the construction of the infrastructure of the port,highway and railway and so on.
