Interaction Study Between Labor Mobility And Industrial Structure Upgrade

Since the reform and opening-up of China,the relationship between labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade,as the rapid growth of Chinese economics and urbanization,has been one of the most important content in Chinese macroscopic research.In general,the evolution process of Chinese industrial structure upgrade basically accords with the law of industrial structure evolution,and the change of industrial structure is consistent with the variation of employment structure of labor mobility.However,the different among three industries is the extent of the transformation.Specifically,the extent of three industries structure transformation is slightly larger than the variation of employment structure of labor mobility,which means the labor mobility lags behind the industry structure transformation.In the meantime,within the second industry,the output proportion is opposite to the proportion of labor mobility employment structure,so that these huge deviations contribute to the incoordination between them.Sometimes,the economic growth is associated with the structure transformation,including the industrial structure evolution,the deepening of industrialization,the adjustment between population and employment structure,as well as the urbanization,etc.The basic essence of labor mobility and industrial structure evolution is to reallocate human and material resources.The process of resource reallocation protects the gradual growth of economics,and in reverse,this development trend helps to optimize the resources configuration.On the one hand,industrial structure evolution induces labor mobilit.On the other hand,this flow affects the structure adjustment.As Chinese Reform and Opening-up,the adjustment of industrial structure is increasing,which releases a series of new requirements to the industrial structure.At present,China is in the process of establishing and improving the socialist market economics system.The imperfect labor market,large and uneven labor flow expose the co-existence of three density and three sparsity,which means:(1)west region is dense while ease is sparse;(2)urban is dense while rural is sparse;(3)the wealthy area is dense while the poor area is sparse.The reality shows there exists huge deviation and incoordination between Chinese current industrial structure and labor mobility employment structure.So is there any correlation between labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade? Can labor mobility continue to improve industrial structure upgrade? If yes,how much does it affect the upgrade? Can industrial structure upgrade,in reverse,effectively promote labor flow? Which one is correct,labor flow pushes industrial structure upgrade or the opposite side? Is there any interaction between them? Hence,it is of importance to study the relationship between labor flow and industrial structure upgrade,as well as the extent of their interaction,which could provide a new perspective for the further research,enrich the existing study result and lay the foundation of future study.In the meantime,it is expecting to instruct the development of Chinese economics growth,labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade efficiently,so that it optimizes industrial structure and labor mobility employment structure and makes them grow correspondingly.These could offer a scientific and feasible reference for related policy making,such as future industrial structure improvement and rational flow of labor mobility.In order to explore the interaction between labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade,this paper summarized several research papers related to the influence factors of labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade,as well as the unilateral and interactive influence factors between them.And then defined the core concepts of the study in this paper and clarified the interaction mechanism between labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade.At the same time,selected Chinese 31 provinces' panel data from 1997 to 2014,and analyzes the trend of labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade,and use Panel regression model to analyze the relationship between labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade.Through the analysis of the empirical results,the following conclusions are drawn.Study results show that:(1)The general trend of labor mobility is from agriculture to non-agricultural industries,although there has been a transient return from nonagricultural industries to agriculture in individual years;(2)The upgrading level of industrial structure shows a descending trend from east region,to central region and west region respectively;(3)Previous industrial structure upgrade has significant promoting effect on the post evolution;(4)There are differences effects of the influence factors of labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade;(5)There exists interaction between labor mobility and industrial structure upgrade,and this interaction is rendered as mutual promote.The promotion from industrial structure upgrade labor mobility to show bigger effect than the reverse.Labor mobility has a significant promotion to the industrial structure upgrade,and industrial structure upgrade plays a positive role in labor mobility with a clear inverted "U" type structure.
