A Study On The Development Of The Open Economy In Northern Jiangsu

This thesis summarizes the origin and connotation of the open economy and its related theories and practice studies.And on the basis,this thesis takes the 5 cities in Northern Jiangsu as the research object,and makes an empirical research on the comprehensive situation of the open economy in Northern Jiangsu in the past 2000-2016 years.First of all,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the development of the open economy in Northern Jiangsu by using data descriptive statistics.Secondly,combined with academic research and authoritative report issued by the government,we set up a comprehensive index system of open economy and Trade Facilitation Index system,and calculated the development level of open economy and Trade Facilitation Index by factor analysis.Finally,based on the Trade Facilitation Index and the other 3 three indicators,the trade gravitational model is established,and the trade potential of the 5 cities in Northern Jiangsu is empirically analyzed.Through the above analysis,the following main conclusions are obtained:(1)The level of open economic development in the 5 cities of North Jiangsu has shown a good upward trend with a certain fluctuation,especially in 2016.Although the per capita GDP of the 5 cities is increasing year by year,the development level of the open economy has a certain fluctuation affected by the influence of open benefit.The development of an open economy in Suqian has been in a backward state,Lianyungang has high open and low walk trend.The open economy of Xuzhou is in a leading position in recent years,catching up from behind.In the past 2010-2012 years,the higher open economic benefits have caused the rapid growth of the open economy in Northern Jiangsu.In contrast,in the past 2013-2016 years,the opening efficiency of every city has not been high in 2010-2012 years,and the dependence of economic development on opening up is rather small.Therefore,the open economy of every city still has great potential for development.The improvement of its opening benefit can further improve the level of economic development.(2)The development of trade facilitation in the 5 cities of North Jiangsu showed a good rising trend.Although there were some fluctuations in the period,the trend of trade facilitation in 2016 was on the rise.The development level of trade facilitation has experienced a rapid upward trend in 2008-2012 years,and has experienced a peak in 2012,but it has declined in 2013 years.The sustained growth from 2008 to 2012 was mainly driven by the increase in the level of transport and transportation.In 2013-2016,although the port cargo throughput and the number of foreign-related hotels declined,but the per capita posts and telecommunications business and the Internet had been improved,which further promoted the development of trade facilitation in the 5 cities of Northern Jiangsu.Since 2013,trade facilitation in Xuzhou has developed rapidly,and the trade facilitation level of the other 4 cities is getting closer,but the gap with Xuzhou has been further opened up.From the trend of development in 2016,the level of trade facilitation in the 5 cities of Northern Jiangsu is relatively large,and it is expected to further narrow the gap.(3)The total economic aggregate,population size,trade facilitation and FDI have a positive impact on trade demand.Trade facilitation has the highest degree of impact on trade demand.As the level of trade facilitation is increased by 1 percentage points,the trade flow in North Jiangsu will increase by 1.225%.Next is GDP.Every 1 percentage point increase,trade demand will increase by 0.696%.Then the size of the population,1 percentage points per increase,trade demand can only increase by 0.365%.The positive effect of foreign direct investment(FDI)on the trade flow of North Jiangsu is the weakest.Each increase of 1 percentage points,the trade flow in Northern Jiangsu is only 0.093%.In addition,the volume of trade flows in the 5 cities of Northern Jiangsu did not exceed the expected value in 2016.Its trade potential has not been fully excavated,and it needs to be further improved.Finally,the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are given in view of the problems found in the empirical test in order to further promote the development of the open economy in Northern Jiangsu.
