A Study On The Tourist Resources Curse In Hainan

Because of its pulling effect on other industries and being known as the environmentally friendly smoke-free industry,tourism industry has been given significant economic tasks such as stimulating consumption,expanding domestic demand,increasing employment and helping the poor to become rich.As a result of economic development and national policy orientation,more and more provinces and cities in China have listed it as the local leading industry or even the pillar industry,which shows the importance of the tourism industry.The economic development level is relatively low in Guizhou,Yunnan Province,Tibet autonomous region,Sichuan Province,Yunnan Province,Guangxi Province,Sichuan Province,Yunnan Province,Guangxi province and so on,which put high expectations on tourism and take tourism industry as their leading industry.The contrast and dislocation between tourism and the overall economic level have aroused the author's reflection,and then make me doubt the common sense that tourism prosperity must lead to economic growth.Is it the gospel or the curse of these areas to rely on abundant tourism resources and vigorously develop the tourism industry?This paper introduces the "resource curse" theory into the research of tourism development.It takes the tropical island with rich tourism resources in China as the research object in Hainan Province,which is developing the "international tourism island".Through comparison analysis of the macro economic data,such as the per capita GDP,per capita disposable income,the per capita disposable income,the per capita wage level,the price and house price level,the three industry added value,the fixed assets investment in the real estate industry,the accommodation and catering industry,this paper preliminarily verifies the existence of "resource curse" in the tourism industry of Hainan province.To further examine the hypothesis,this paper,based on the theory of economic growth of the new institutional economics,uses a double logarithmic linear regression model to verify that there is a positive correlation between the tourism industry prosperity and economic development in Hainan Province,but the expansion of the real estate industry bundled with the tourism industry is negatively related to the economic growth.The relationship has offset the positive effect of the former,and confirms that the investment in the real estate in Hainan Island tourism industry occupies a large number of factors of production.The export-oriented real estate industry,which relies on the development of Hainan's rich tourism resources,produces an extrusion effect on industry and forms a curse of Tourism resources.Finally,according to the development mode of Hainan Island tourism and other factors that have negative impact on the economic growth,it puts forward some suggestions for the adjustment of industrial structure and the reform of tourism industry in Hainan Island area,which coincides with the policy spirit of exploring the construction of free trade lane in Hainan Island.
