Since the"the Belt and Road " initiative was put forward in October 2013,65 countries and regions have participated in the construction of “the Belt and Road ",bringing new development opportunities for regional economic development and cultural exchanges of the regions along the routes. It is essential for building the 21st century maritime Silk Road to build maritime transport corridors and maritime transport networks, strengthen international maritime transport links and connectivity of infrastructure. In recent years, the use of complex network theory to study the real network has been recognized by more and more scholars.Complex network theory can be found in Internet network, neural network, logistics supply chain network and food chain network in ecosystem.Based on the complex network theory, this paper studies the structural characteristics and evolution of maritime transport network based on the background of "21st century maritime Silk Road" in the region along the route.First of all, this paper takes the shipping schedule table of 7 liner companies from March 15,2019 to May 15,2019 as the data source, and a directional weighted shipping network is constructed with countries as nodes, routes as edges and the number of liner calls between countries as the weight;Secondly, based on the complex network theory, the structural characteristics of the unauthorized network and authorized network were analyzed respectively, and it is concluded that the average distance of the shipping network in the region along the " the Belt and Road " is small and the aggregation coefficient is large, which has the obvious small-world characteristics, and the distribution of its point weight has the obvious "long tail" characteristics. The scale-free characteristics of the maritime transport network are verified, and the core-edge analysis of the maritime transport network shows that there are fewer core countries and more marginal countries, which leads to the disadvantages of poor stability of the network;Thirdly, the evolution characteristics of the real maritime transport network were analyzed and summarized,it is considered that the probability of node connection is determined by node strength alone, the adaptability index of network nodes is introduced and modified on the basis of BBV model, the validity of the modified model is verified by mathematical analysis; Finally, through the overall review of this paper, this paper summarizes several conclusions of this paper, proposes relevant improvement suggestions from the perspective of ports, liner companies and national policies, faces up to the shortcomings of this paper, and puts forward prospects for future research directions.
