In the industry,copper and copper alloys have been processed into tubular rod profiles,welding wires and other products,extrusion methods are commonly used,which is an important method used by the metal processing industry.At present,in the actual production of non-ferrous metal extrusion workshops,the method of feeding the extruder is mainly artificial feeding.In the project of this thesis,in the copper alloy extrusion process of the production workshop,the original method of feeding the wire press is manual feeding.The feeding process is slow,the temperature cannot be accurately controlled,and safety accidents easily occur,resulting in low product quality,low production efficiency leads to a decline in the competitiveness of enterprises.This thesis aims at the above problems and according to the process requirements of the project.,an automatic feeding system for wire presses based on PLC control technology and industrial robot technology is designed.The whole electrical control system includes hardware and software parts.The hardware part mainly includes automatic feeder,temperature detection device,ABB industrial robot and Mitsubishi PLC controller and touch screen,etc.The software part of the system includes the design of PLC program,industrial robot program and the interface of touch screen.The thesis elaborated on the process flow of the automatic feeding system.The feeder transported the copper alloy ingots into the heating furnace,it exited the furnace after the set time,then the industrial robot gripped and placed the ingot before placing it in the temperature sensor for testing.The product temperature was qualified,the robot moves,the ingot is placed in the press hole and the press works to press the wire;the temperature is not qualified and the ingot is placed into the waste box by robot.The thesis conducts research and designs from the following aspects:(1)Based on the site environment and process requirements,we design the electrical circuit of the system,elaborating the function of each part in the circuit and the selection of related devices in detail,and focusing on the PLC controller selection and endpoint allocation.(2)Draw the sequential function chart(SFC)according to process flow and complete the transformation of the ladder diagram program,focus on the logic of the PLC program.According to the system function,the page of the touch screen is designed to operate and monitor the system.(3)Planning the path of industrial robots,complete the point determination through the teach Pendant,write the routine program by using Robot Studio,make the robot complete a series of actions such as grabbing and placing.(4)Automatic feeding system is installed On-site,the system includes feeders,heating furnaces,robots,etc.,Then the system testing is carried out,problems are solved and data analysis is conducted during the process.The wire feeding machine automatic feeding system designed in this thesis has been put into use.The successful operation of the system will help improve work efficiency,improve product quality and save labor costs,and at the same time it ensure the safety of staff and improve product competitiveness.This is of great significance to the production workshop.
