Study On The Influence Mechanism Of Construction Workers' Risk Perception On Safety Behaviors

Construction workers' safety behaviors will significantly influence the project's safety performance.Exploring how to encourage the construction workers to perform safety behaviors is necessary.There are few researches and some disagreements on the relationship between risk perception and safety behaviors.Considering the impact of safety motivation and safety climate,this research studies the relationship between risk perception and safety behaviors from the perspective of safety demands and work pressure.The thesis analyzed safety behaviors from the perspective of safety compliance behaviors and safety participation behaviors.Through literature review,this thesis built the moderated mediation model of safety climate and safety motivation which links risk perception to safety behaviors.The data was collected from 193 construction workers by questionnaire survey.Then the reliability and validity of questionnaires were tested.Finally,the linear regression analysis,the integrated bootstrapping mediation testing method and the first stage moderation model were used to test the hypothesizes.The thesis found that the risk perception has negative effects on safety compliance behaviors and safety participation behaviors.The mediation effects of safety motivation were proved.The moderation role of safety climate was also proved.It shows that when the supervisor safety climate ascends,the negative effects of risk perception on safety motivation and safety behaviors become stronger.On the contrary,when the co-workers safety climate ascends,the negative effects of risk perception on safety motivation and safety behaviors become weaker.This research proved the relationship between risk perception and safety behaviors,revealed the mediation role of safety motivation,and explored the moderation role of supervisor safety climate and co-workers safety climate.This research provided a new theoretical basis and a new perspective to improve the construction workers' safety behaviors and the safety performance of construction projects.
