Study On The Influencing Factors Of Urban Eco-efficiency Based On Structural Equation Model

With the rapid development of global economy,environmental problems are getting serious,severely hindering the development of social economy.Issues like global warming and air pollution are still deteriorating.All in all,the sustainability of human survival is threatened.On this background,the thesis sets the promotion of urban ecological efficiency as the research object,and designs the questionnaire of "factors which influence urban ecological efficiency".Moreover,the author has built a structural equation model according to the relationships of seven latent variables(urban scale,environmental policy,environmental awareness,technology innovation,urban management,ecological environment and economic development).With the aid of this model,the research attempts to study whether city scale,environmental policy,environmental awareness,technical innovation and urban management of these five factors will have a significant impact on the ecological environment and economic development,further exploring their influence on the Urban Eco-efficiency.There are six sections discussed in this thesis:Section 1.Introduction.The thesis briefly introduces the background and significance,clarify the research content,research methods,and the innovation.Section 2.Literature review.It concludes and reviews the literature on urban ecological efficiency and its influencing factors published by experts and scholars at home and abroad,pointing out the shortcomings of the present study in this field.Section 3.The proposal of research hypothesis.According to the reference,the thesis puts forward the factors influencing urban ecological efficiency,and then puts forward the relevant hypothesis.Section 4.Questionnaire development and research design.Firstly,based on theory of Eco-efficiency,the thesis designs the questionnaire and measures related dimensions and variables;Secondly,questionnaires are pretested in a small range of samples to obtain test results;Finally,revise the questionnaire into a formal one according to the forecast test conclusion.Section 5.The analysis of factors affecting urban Eco-efficiency.The thesis selects five relevant factors,such as urban scale,environmental policy,environmental awareness,technological innovation and urban management,and then establishes a structural equation model to test their influence on ecological efficiency.Section 6.Research conclusion and suggestions.The thesis generalizes the research findings.Besides,it advises and expects to adjust the city scale,introduce advanced environment protection technology,improve enterprise innovation,and enhance environment education and propaganda by using Chinese environmental policy.In the end,the thesis concludes that urban scale,environmental policy,environmental protection awareness,technical innovation,and urban management have significant influence on the urban ecological efficiency.Based on the conclusions,the thesis proposes countermeasures to improve Eco-efficiency from the aspects of government,enterprises and the public.The government should improve the legal awareness of relevant departments,and actively guide and encourage the enterprise to innovate technology,putting ecological civilization in a more important strategic position.Enterprises should increase investment in technology innovation in resource conservation and environmental management,introduce and cultivate innovative talents.The public should be educated on environmental protection,improve environmental protection awareness,and understand relevant laws and regulations.
