Since the 1980's,project management has been recognized as a viable,excellent management method and new technology which is able to achieve the goal of complex projects.The main purpose of project management is to solve the problems that occur in the implementation progress of the large-scaled projects which are for long period and strict in the time schedule.It can improve the level of management so that the managers can deal with complex problems in the cross fields and achieve efficient operation and management,adapting to the social needs.Therefore,project management in modern society has received a wide range of support and attention.The engineering and construction projects of metallurgical enterprises,in which many units are participated,are characteristic of long period,large scale,much investment,strong project independence and full of complicated conditions in construction and technology.The project needs to be completed and put into use in the given time.To be advanced,just on time or postponed will have a direct influence on the economic benefits of the project investment units.Therefore,to making effective project planning and control in the process of the project in order to improve management level and project quality and achieve investment returns,the successful application of project management has a very important significance.This paper takes the construction project of 4#RCM mill in SGQG company as an example,make the studies and analyzes project schedule planning and control as follows:(1)Based on the relevant theoretical knowledge of project schedule plan and schedule control,combined with the SGQG 4#RCM rolling mill construction project,to describe in details the construction content,design scheme,structure and management system of the project.(2)Based on defining the implementation scope of the project,the work structure is broken down according to the project organization structure and time limits and thus the project schedule is compiled by using MS.Project.(3)According to the project schedule,by analyzing the problems and causes which might influence the project schedule in the execution of the project and combining the project schedule control target and main processes,it put forward the measures to ensure the project schedule in the aspects of organization,management,technology,contract and construction.
