Chinese chopsticks have a long history.They have been used as eating utensils since the neolithic age.China was the country of the invention of chopsticks,but the use of chopsticks was not limited to China,with the ancient cultural exchanges,population migration,chopsticks were brought east to the Korean peninsula,Japan,south into Vietnam.Chopsticks may seem simple,but the details of the sticks suggest differences.Longitudinally,in China's native land,chopsticks have been changing,the shape and material of chopsticks in the past dynasties are different;In horizontal comparison,chopsticks from Japan and South Korea have different shapes and materials.The modeling differences reflect the ideological and cultural differences of the people in their respective cultural circles.This paper studies the modeling of chopsticks in China,Japan and South Korean by means of cultural comparison,and explores the influence of cultural differences on the modeling of chopsticks.Starting with the shape of chopsticks,this paper sorts out the shape changes of Chinese chopsticks from the pre-qin period to now.The eating utensil is changed from using chopsticks and spoon together to using only chopsticks,the eating custom is changed from individual serving to combined serving,and using the table and chair with high feet,the shape of chopsticks changes at these points.Thus found the eating utensil,eating custom,using table and chair with high feet,these cultural factors affecting the shape of chopsticks.In Japan and South Korean,these factors also affect the shape of chopsticks.In addition,the way of cooking,the types of food and people's ideology will also affect the shape of chopsticks as the cultural factors.After that,this paper analyzes and explores the action path of cultural factors affecting chopsticks.Two action paths have been summarizedinfluencing the chopsticks by creating a specific eating scene,or directly affecting the chopsticks and influencing the shape.Eating scene core is the difference of the distance the chopsticks to get food.The influence of distance on the length of chopsticks and the diameter of chopstick head was explored by means of ergonomic experiment.Within a certain range,the closer the distance is,the shorter the chopstick tends to be,and the more pointed the chopstick head tends to be.The farther the distance,the longer the chopstick tends to be,and the thicker the chopstick head tends to be.Based on the analysis of cultural factors and the result of ergonomic evaluation,this paper analyzes and summarizes the influence of cultural differences on the modeling of chopsticks from the three modeling elements of material,length and shape.In order to extend the research results in the production and use of chopsticks,this paper investigated the use of chopsticks among young people to understand their preferences in chopsticks use and their knowledge of local famous chopsticks and traditional craft.Finally,combining the research results and the survey results,some suggestions and beneficial thoughts are put forward for the protection of local famous chopsticks,the use of chopsticks in catering industry,the production of chopsticks and the inheritance of chopsticks culture.
