Indium is a rare element.Indium exists in the associated form in nature,without its own independent deposits,and production relies mainly on the extraction and extraction of zinc ore.Indium resources have a good application prospect in the information age.In 2008,indium was listed as one of the 11 critical minerals in the United States;in 2010,the European Union listed indium as a critical minerals list;Japan also included indium as one of the strategic minerals of priority in the protection strategy for rare metals.China has a huge reserve of indium resources,and its output is also in the forefront of the world.In recent years,the consumption of indium resources has also begun to grow rapidly.However,due to the failure of China's Tibetan indium in the people,the indium market has been seriously affected,so the research on the supply and demand of indium resources is particularly important.At present,the major consumer countries of indium resources in the world are mainly Japan and South Korea;production is mainly concentrated in China and South Korea,and South Korea has seized the failure of Tibetan indium in the Chinese indium market,quickly occupied the market and became the world's largest indium producer.The production of regenerated indium is in Japan and Korea,and Japan is the most.Therefore,the research on the supply and demand of indium resources is very significant.This paper collects and analyzes the resource reserves and distribution of indium resources,global historical production,and major producing countries and consumption and trade information.It is found that the main consumer countries of indium resources are still unchanged in Japan and South Korea,but China The proportion of consumption will increase tremendously.In terms of production,the future zinc-producing countries are mainly major indium producers,but in terms of reclaimed indium,in addition to Japan and South Korea,the amount of recycled indium in China will increase significantly.Because of the concentration of indium consumption,ITO target technology is relatively mature,accounting for more than 80% of the consumer sector.At the same time,the CIGS technology in photovoltaic cells is in line with the environmental protection trend and has great development potential,and is expected to become an important technology for the global transformation of indium resource consumption.This paper mainly analyzes the demand for future indium resources of ITO target and CIGS solar thin film battery through departmental analysis method and trend extrapolation method.At the same time,the amount of regenerated indium in the future will be analyzed and predicted.The future global demand for primary indium is predicted by the demand for indium resources and the amount of regenerated indium in the future.Finally,compared with the future global indium supply capacity predicted by the apparent primary production ratio of indium zinc,the future supply and demand of global indium resources will be studied.The results show that(1)The primary production of indium zinc in the current technology will be lower than the production of native indium in the future.This situation will lead to the future of the global indium market into the era of destocking.(2)The market size of indium is relatively small,and the promotion and application of new CIGS technology will lead to a significant increase in indium demand.
