On the basis of the stronger XRD phenomenon of organic molecular crystals,the powder X-ray diffraction?XRD?technique was mainly used to systematically study XRD spectra of pharmaceutical edulcorants and the regularity between sweetness and XRD intensity,and to explore the quality control method of pharmaceutical edulcorants in Chinese traditional patent medicine.The pharmaceutical edulcorants and its distribution in Angelicae sinensis radix decoction pieces as well as hesperidin and its distribution in Fructus Citri Immaturu decoction pieces were identified.The quality control method of Chinese medicinal decoction pieces using XRD was discussed.Six kinds of vitamins with XRD phenomena were identified and their quality control method was discussed.Electron spin resonance?ESR?and differential scanning calorimetry?DSC?techniques were aided to explore pharmaceutical edulcorants,viramins,Chinese herbal medicine ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients in San'ao tablets.The main results are as follows:1.Identification on distribution of sucrose in Angelicae sinensis radix herbal decoction pieces via X-ray diffraction and discussion on identification of chinese medicinal materialsBecause sucrose in Angelicae sinensis?AS?herbal decoction pieces can crystallize in the form of organic molecular crystals,the XRD technique was used to rapidly identify a large amount of sucrose existing in AS.For the distribution of sucrose in AS,the content of sucrose in the endodermis is highest,followed by the xylem,and that in the epidermis is lowest.The XRD technique is a simple and rapid method of quality control for AS herbal decoction pieces.The limitation of identification on Chinese medicinal materials containing organic molecular crystals using XRD was discussed.2.Identification on hesperidin and its distribution in Fructus Citri Immaturu decoction pieces via X-ray diffraction and discussion on quality controlThe XRD technique is a simple and rapid detection method for identifying hesperidin and its distribution of in Fructus Citri Immaturu?FCI?decoction pieces.FCI contains a large amount of hesperidin and exhibits the characteristic XRD peaks of hesperidin.The contents of hesperidin in three parts of FCI in different producing areas are different,but the crystallization quality of hesperidin in orange white is the most stable.No calcium oxalate monohydrate?COM?deposits as metabolite in FCI.Hesperidin also exists in Four petal ilex macropoda,Pericarpium Citri Reticulata,and Fructus aurantii immatus,which belong to the same genus Rutaceae as FCI,but these three decoction pieces from some producing area do not contain FCI and contain a small amount of COM crystals.The XRD quality control of Chinese medicinal materials was deeply discussed.3.X-ray diffraction of pharmaceutical edulcorants and identification on sugar in Zhenqi Fuzheng granulesTwelve kinds of pharmaceutical edulcorants were investigated using X-ray diffraction.No XRD occurs in steviosin.The other eleven kinds of edulcorants crystallize in the form of organic molecular crystals and exhibit their characteristic XRD patterns.In light of the intensity of the main XRD peak,the edulcorants in ascending order are sucralose,acesulfame potassium,aspartame,saccharin sodium,sucrose,anhydrous lactose,glucose,mannitol,lactose monohydrate,xylitol,and sodium cyclamate,i.e.intermediate-sweetness edulcorants>low-sweetness edulcorants>high-sweetness edulcorants.According to this finding,the edulcorant in commercial sugar-containing Zhenqi Fuzheng granules was identified as sucrose.The quality control of XRD and multiple crystalline phases of pharmaceutical edulcorants were discussed.The XRD technique can be apt to identifications and quality control of low-and intermediate-sweetness edulcorants in Chinese traditional patent medicine.4.Comparative study of XRD and ESR of several vitaminsSix kinds of vitamins B1,B2,B3,B9,B12 and C can crystallize in the form of organic molecular crystals and exhibit their characteristic XRD peaks.In light of the intensity of the main XRD peak,the vitamins in ascending order are C,B2,B3,B9,B12,and B1.The XRD pattern of Vitamin C?VC?shows a super intensity,which is 13.2 times higher than B2 and approximately 30 times higher than inorganic ceramic crystals.Specially,the XRD method is apt to quality control of VC in Chinese traditional patent medicine.In addition,the ESR technique was used to rapidly identify cobalt ions in vitamin B12.
