Research On Corrugated Cardboard Furniture Design Based On User-centered

Since the corrugated cardboard furniture development,it has always been a model of green furniture.However,due to the problems of material,design,price and concept,corrugated furniture market development is not ideal.This paper introduced user-centered design idea,quantitative analysis and summarized the corrugated cardboard furniture users morphological characteristics and requirements of life,proposed the user-centric corrugated cardboard furniture design principles and innovation strategy,aimed to guide the corrugated cardboard furniture design innovation,provided direction for the corrugated cardboard furniture market.First of all,this article used the questionnaire survey approach,analyzed the cardboard furniture users lifestyle based on the theory of lifestyle,researched and summarized the corrugated cardboard furniture user’s needs,consumer demand and design demands on the basis of user research and user requirements.And then through the generalization and analysis of the users survey results with the method of cross classified analysis,corrugated board furniture user features and requirements were concluded.In the end,the author summarized corrugated cardboard furniture design principles and creative strategies and conducted corrugated cardboard furniture design practice,adopted qualitative observation and interview and quantitative test of user satisfaction for product design evaluation,complete the whole of the user-centered corrugated cardboard furniture design process.The main results are as following:User requirments for corrugated board furniture existed different levels.The most influential are the safty,structure and aesthetic appearance of corrugated board furniture.In addition,users would prefer to choose miniature furniture or household items.Based on the hierarchy of needs analysis,corrugated cardboard furniture design principles such as safety and firmness,beautiful and unique,comfort and convenient,economical and practical,environmentally sustainable,and artistry,individuality,multifunction,foldability,dismountable frame,emotional design creative strategies were summarized.The two stools in design practice satisfied the basic principles of corrugated cardboard furniture design,had the creative points to attract consumers at the same time.The design works obtained a higher appraisal in terms of user experience,aesthetics,unique,got a certain degree of market acceptance,eventually achieved innovative design of corrugated cardboard furniture.
