The first book in children's life is the picture book.The picture book is a fun,beautiful and impressive picture book for children.At present,many parents in China choose the picture book as the children's enlightenment book,so the picture book plays an important role in children's early education.The development of our country's original picture books lags behind that of foreign countries.Most of the Chinese original picture book designers design according to children's cognitive needs,which leads to many picture books that are not suitable for preschool children to read in the original market.Therefore,the design of picture books for preschool children needs to introduce the cognitive characteristics of user groups to meet the needs of readers.Based on the cognitive theory of preschool children,the design method of preschool children's picture books is analyzed and practiced.The subject is divided into five parts altogether.The first part is the introduction,which analyses and discusses the research background,purpose,significance and development status of children's picture book design.The second part,starting from preschool children's cognitive characteristics,analyses the physiological characteristics,psychological characteristics,perceptual characteristics and linguistic characteristics of children's cognitive development at this stage,and their influence on picture book design.Chapter plays a paving role;the third part is how to design the traditional festival picture book series for preschool children under the theoretical guidance of children's cognitive characteristics,and describes in detail how to design the content and form of the picture book according to children's cognitive characteristics;the fourth part is the focus of the full text,which carries out the design practice of traditional festival children's picture book based on preschool children's cognitive characteristics.The whole process,a detailed description of the design and analysis of picture books,including the cultural heritage of traditional festival picture books,image and text processing,layout and binding,and derivatives design.The innovation of this subject lies in: firstly,the cognitive characteristics of children are used as theoretical guidance to design children's picture books;secondly,the traditional Chinese folk culture stories are adapted and created according to the cognitive characteristics of preschool children;thirdly,the visual elements of picture books are designed in a series of interesting ways to make them more suitable for Preschool children's cognitive needs.The purpose of this research is to provide some reference for the design method of preschool children's picture books.It is hoped that when designing picture books,we can design a picture book suitable for preschool children to read according to their cognitive characteristics and meet their needs,that is,children's favorite picture books.
