Coal is one of the main energy sources used by the human world since the eighteenth century. The exploitation of coal plays an extremely important role in the social and economic development of mankind. However,in the process of coal mine safety production, coal spontaneous combustion is listed as one of the major natural disasters.Whether it is underground or open air,it will cause serious harm to the working environment, coal resources and workers'safety. With the emergence of various coal spontaneous combustion theories and hypotheses, and the emergence of advanced coal spontaneous combustion propensity methods, great results have been achieved in preventing the occurrence of coal spontaneous combustion. However, since coal spontaneous combustion is an extremely complex physical and chemical reaction, the main function is hidden fire source, difficult to find, difficult to treat, and powerful disaster, which has not fundamentally solved the problem of coal spontaneous combustion. In this paper, the combination of theoretical analysis and experimental research is used to analyze the thermal characteristics of the spontaneous combustion process of coal oxidation by qualitative SDT-Q600 analyzer. The thermal characteristics of ignited spontaneous combustion of coal samples such as lignite, and the study of bituminous coal and anthracite.Spontaneous combustion is based on the difference between coal microstructure and composition.Theoretically, the microscopic analysis of the reaction of micro-chemical structures from the mechanism of oxidative combustion of coal, especially the low-temperature oxidation process of coal. From the perspective of thermal analysis kinetics, the oxidative autoignition process of coal is analyzed, and the concept of fire activation energy is introduced to infer the kinetic equation suitable for the spontaneous combustion process of coal oxidation.According to the TG curve, the ignition activation energy of the coal sample was calculated using the Origin software. The oxidation self-ignition process of coal is roughly divided into three stages:water loss, oxidation weight gain and combustion weight loss. The oxidation stage of coal plays a key role in coal spontaneous combustion. The ignition activation energy of coal samples is gradually increased with the increase of temperature. The maximum apparent activation energy of coal oxidation phase is inversely proportional to the oxygen absorption per unit mass of coal sample. Finally,it is concluded that when the maximum apparent activation energy activation energy of coal is less than 129.73kJ·mol-1,it is easy to spontaneously ignite. When the maximum apparent activation energy of coal is between129.73144.93kJ·mol-1,it is self-burning coal;when the maximum apparent activation energy of coal is more than 144.93kJ·mol-1,it is not easy to spontaneous combustion.
