The Research On Weaving Machine Under The Influence Of Scholar’s Interests In Song,Yuan And Ming Dynasty

In Chinese history,the literati stratum had an important influence on society from the Song Dynasty.The rulers of the Song Dynasty adopted the policy of slavishly suppressing the military and vigorously developed the imperial examination system,which given to poor students plenty of opportunities to enter the school.On the other hand,the private schools in the Song dynasty flourished and allowed the literati groups to grow.The literati of the Song,Yuan,and Ming dynasties gradually developed self-consciousness in values and aesthetics,and affected other social groups,thus exerting a certain influence on the styling,workmanship,and selection of various types of utensils.As a common life tool and agricultural tool in ancient China,weavers are widely used,but they are cheap and rough.People pay more attention to their practicality than to appreciate their beauty.Since the Song,Yuan and Ming Dynasties,the aesthetic value and position of the weaver have been significantly improved.This is inseparable from the literati’s admiration and the development of the literati’s charm.After the Tang Dynasty,tea drinking and flower arrangement became an important artistic activity in the literati’s life.The weaving apparatus used as a tea utensil and flower apparatus began to receive the attention of the literati.With the increase of the literati’s requirements for tea utensils and flower arrangements,the function and appearance of the weaver have become very high.As a result of the great development,weaving machines gradually evolved from ordinary life tools and developed handicrafts and artworks of collectible value.Until the late Ming Dynasty,the aesthetics of the weaver had been recognized by the society,and the weaving process was widely used in the production of various handicrafts.This article attempts to trace the development of the literati’s interest in the Song,Yuan,and Ming dynasties as clues,and takes tea art and flower arrangement art as concrete examples to seek clues from paintings and ancient literature to analyze the development of weavers under the influence of literati’s interests and aesthetic changes.The trajectory demonstrates the relationship between literati interests and the development of weaving machines,improves the history of weaving art,enriches the cultural connotation of weaving machines,and provides references for the inheritance and development of contemporary Chinese weaving techniques.
