After the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake,the booming infrastructure construction,high housing prices and increasingly stricter environmental supervision in Sichuan have driven the strong demand for cement.Large and small cement enterprises have been put into operation and developed rapidly with their output increasing continuously.As an emerging cement enterprise in northern Sichuan Basin,Sichuan G Cement Co.,Ltd.is facing increasingly prominent industrial competition and other problems.How to continuously develop and strengthen itself and stand firm in the competitive industry has become the current focus of G Cement Co.,Ltd.The most important thing is to make an objective and reasonable evaluation of the level of its competitiveness,and to put forward strategies to enhance its competitiveness.In this paper,PEST analysis model,Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model and other methods are used to qualitatively analyze the basic situation of G Cement Co.,Ltd.from the external and internal environment,and reasonable indexes are selected to establish an evaluation system.Also,factor analysis is used to quantitatively compare the competitiveness level of G Cement Co.,Ltd.with major its competitors in the same region.According to the analysis results,the comprehensive strength of G Cement Co.,Ltd.is in the downstream of the 5 cement enterprises in the same region,and there is a big gap with the advanced enterprises.Its profitability,development ability,capital strength and resources are not in the first place,and its resources and capital strength are at the end of the single item.Therefore,when formulating strategies to enhance competitiveness,we should focus on developing capabilities and fund management.According to the shortcomings of G Cement Co.,Ltd.,this paper puts forward the strategy of improving competitiveness from several aspects including capital management,technological innovation and brand management,and it puts forward core strategies for short term,medium term and long term,respectively.
