In the domestic refineries,fluidic catalytic cracking(FCC)units undertake more than 50% of gasoline production and approximately 20% of diesel production,and thus are regarded as core units in major refineries for producing refined oil and improving economic benefit.The energy consumption of FCC units accounts for more than 1/3 of the energy consumption of refinery.Therefore,reducing the energy consumption of FCC units possess extremely important role for the oil refining enterprises to achieve goals of environmental protection,cost reduction,quality improvement,efficiency improvement and upgrade.By analyzing the process technology route,raw material properties,product distribution,product properties and energy consumption of 2.9Mt/a FCC unit of Qingdao Refining and Chemical Company,the main factors leading to high energy consumption of this unit are summarized in this paper.These factors include the following aspects: the power consumption of the unit is high;the efficiency of flue gas turbine is low;the energy consumption of the into-and-out heat material is high;the yield of coke is high.We found that the catalytic cracking unit can be improved and optimized by increasing the power of flue gas turbine to reduce the energy consumption of main blower,reducing the power consumption of the pump and so on.In order to reduce energy consumption,the following measures can be taken to reform and optimize the catalytic cracking unit: replace the serpentine tube of economizer in the waste heat boiler system with a serpentine finned tube and adopt a combined shock wave soot blowing system;transfer the control system of machine system into the control system;cut the impeller the pump to reduce the it's delivery capacity;flue gas turbine is optimized mainly through replacing the blades of flue gas turbine with saber-shaped ones and adopting protection technology for blades root,static and dynamic blade flow with duct expansion angle and high-efficiency exhaust shell with baffle to transform the flue gas turbine.According to the performance curve of the machine pump,the cutting impeller was transformed to some machine pumps,the pressure drop of the control valve was generally reduced,and the power consumption of the motor pump motor decreased obviously.Taking the above measures to reform and optimize the catalytic cracking unit,the energy consumption of this unit is reduced to about 1675MJ/t,which is also among the most energy efficient units.The method used in this paper termed finding problems before solving them will also play a guiding role in improving the energy saving of other refinery units.
