In recent years,the application of various kinds of civil,decorative and industrial fibers and their textiles have been expanding rapidly,and the number of fires caused by textiles is also increasing.Statistics from relevant departments show that fires of all sizes cause economic losses of more than 500 million RMB to the society every year,and serious fires caused by flammable fiber products accounts for half of the total number of fires.Therefore,it is an important and urgent work to treat the fibers and their textiles with flame retardant.Polyester(PET)fabric has a series of excellent properties,such as high breaking strength and modulus of elasticity,moderate resilience,excellent heat setting effect,good heat resistance and light resistance.It can keep stable shape under most conditions of use and its fabric has washability.In addition,it also has excellent resistance(such as resistance to organic solvents,soap,detergent,bleach and oxidant)and better corrosion resistance,so it is commonly used in clothing and industry.However,PET fabric has strong flammability,fast burning speed and will produce droplets and toxic fumes during combustion.There is a certain danger in the use process,so it is necessary to carry out flame retardant finishing for it.PET flame retardant is generally obtained by fiber flame retardant and flame retardant after finishing.Textile coating finishing is to evenly coat a layer of high molecular material on the surface of the fabric to form a compact film on the surface,which would be protective to the fabric.The method has the advantages of simple process,low cost,good migration resistance,no waste water and good environmental protection benefit.In this paper,the flame-retardant finishing of polyester fabric was carried out by coating finishing method.The flame-retardant effect and mechanism of polyester fabric were studied by means of infrared spectrum,scanning electron microscope,thermogravimetry and micro calorimetry.The effect of crosslinking agent on thewashability of flame retardant coated fabric was also studied.The main research results are as follows:(1)Flame retardant coating adhesives for polyester were prepared by mixing coating adhesives such as waterborne polyacrylate,waterborne polyurethane and organosilicon with organophosphorus flame retardant.The structure and stability of flame retardant coating adhesive were characterized and the mechanical stability,viscosity and solid content of flame retardant coating adhesive were studied.The results show that organophosphorus flame retardant has good compatibility with waterborne acrylate coating adhesive,and stable flame retardant coating adhesive can be prepared.(2)The flame retardant coating of polyester fabric was finished with self-made flame retardant coating adhesive.The effects of coating thickness,baking time and baking temperature on the flame-retardant properties were analyzed to identify the best flame retardant coating finishing process.The results showed that the best flame retardant effect was achieved with120?m of coating thickness,baked in 180? for 3 minutes.(3)The effect of the crosslinking agent on the water fastness of the flame retardant coated fabric was studied by combining the aldehyde-free crosslinking agent with the flame retardant coating adhesive.The physical and wearing properties of coating method and dip rolling method were also compared and analyzed.The water washing fastness and rubbing fastness of the flame-retardant coated fabric were tested and the flame retardant and thermal properties of the PET fabric treated by the coating method and the dip rolling method were characterized.The results showed that the crosslinking agent can improve the washability of the flame retardant coated fabric to some extent and the flame-retardant mechanism of PET fabric treated by coating method and dip rolling method is different.
