The Research On The Elderly Detached House In The Hilly Region Of Hunan

The aging society has been an emerging issue.There is increasing discussion on the life after people retire.As traditional aged-care cannot meet the increasing demand of the elderly,new ways to accommodate life after retirement has emerged.One of the new ways for people to enjoy life after retirement is living a life outside major urban areas.Some older people enjoy the close-to-nature lifestyle.They prefer to live in the beautiful natural environment in the countryside,hoping to live,recreate and heal.Therefore,provincial aged-care facility has emerged to cater for such need.Hills are a common geological feature in Hunan area.Hills are usually covered with plants and good natural environment.However,this resource has not been developed adequately.The author hopes to combine between aged-care and the hilly natural environment in Hunan.Stand-alone residential properties are one of the ways to establish aged-care facility in hill regions.The design of properties needs to be suitable to the local geological environment and also to meet the needs of the elderly.This article review relevant theories to study the method to built aged-care detached house in hill regions in Hunan.The first chapter stated the background,rationale,definition of the subject,the global understanding of the issue,research methodology and research framework.The second chapter described the psychological and physical features and needs of the elderly as well as relevant solutions.The third chapter analysed conditions suited for construction in hill regions in Hunan.The forth chapter described basic theories and principles.The fifth chapter is about construction sites and exterior design.The sixth chapter is about stand-alone entities and interior design.The last chapter is the research conclusion.
