| In the past few years,a large number of researches on exploring and resolving the technical problems in the application of Building Information Modeling(BIM)have emerged.Many researchers have realized the combination of BIM and Internet of Things(Io T),laser scanning,and big data technologies to fulfill application of BIM technology in many aspects.Although many practitioners have recognized the applicability and potential benefits of BIM in construction,a large number of investigations and studies have found that the adoption degree of BIM technology in China’s construction organizations is still low and the application depth is not enough.This shows that BIM adoption and implementation are still the core of BIM research and practice.From the perspective of individuals or participants,projects or organizations,and the entire market or industry,we combed the research results of previous scholars on the adoption of BIM technology and found that at the project or organization level,researchers mostly use empirical research to examine the effectiveness and challenges of BIM implementation.There is a lack of research on the direct impact mechanism of BIM adoption in the construction organizations.Through the development of the BIM comprehensive maturity model,the BIM maturity level of construction organizations in China was investigated.It was determined that China’s construction organizations are still in the early stage of BIM implementation,and based on the analysis of technology adoption related theories,combined with the influencing factors of the initial implementation of BIM in China’s construction organizations,External and intermediary variables that influence the adoption intention of BIM technology in construction organizations ware constructed,scales for measurement of variables were formulated,assumptions of the impact of exogenous variables on endogenous variables were proposed,and a BIM technology adoption model was established.A questionnaire was prepared for the hypotheses that need to be studied in the model.The questionnaire was used to evaluate each item by using the Likert 7-point scale.A total of 153 valid questionnaires were collected.Based on the collected questionnaire data,the reliability of the measurement scale,the convergent validity and the discriminant validity of the latent variables,and the goodness of fit of overall model were verified.The rationality of the impact assumption was checked through path analysis.After the removal of insignificant path,the final construction organization BIM technology adoption model was obtained.Based on the final BIM technology adoption model,and in view of the key factors that have a significant impact on the adoption intention of construction organizations for BIM technology,this paper proposes a series of opinions to improve the adoption degree of BIM technology for construction organizations.Using the validated latent variables measurement scale to measure the employees of the construction organizations,this model can be used to evaluate the preparation condition of the BIM technology for the construction organizations.The evaluation results can also be used to formulate BIM technology adoption strategy for each construction organization. |
