With the development and utilization of existing resources,the petroleum production and quality become unstable,the difficulty of exploration increased at the same time.From the automotive manufacturing point of view,petroleum is the important resource for production.To avoid of the influence from lack of petroleum,automotive industry has to implement energy saving and emission reduction.Environmental problem as the outcome of social economic development has been put into a high priority by our country.From 2009 to 2015,the ranking of China's automobile production and sales volume is the first in the world for six consecutive years.According to the data provided by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers,in 2015,China's sales volume of automobile is 25.13 million,of which the growth speed is fast at the beginning and the end of the year,and the sales growth trend in the middle period is not obvious.In 2016,China's automobile production volume is 28.11 million,and the sales volume of automobiles is 28.02 million.In 2017,China's automobile production volume is 29.01 million,and the sales volume of automobiles is 28.87 million.The booms of the automotive sales market have provided a rare opportunity for the development of the automotive industry.Under the influence of China's economic environment,the automotive industry has gradually entered a stage of stable development.Under the influence of the national policies and economic environment,automotive energy saving and emission reduction manufacturers are facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities.Continental as one of the top five automotive component suppliers should keep a calm attitude and rational thinking to plan the future development.In this paper,the author analyzes the future development strategy of Continental's main business,energy saving and emission reduction business,and proposes the corresponding safeguards.In this paper,first of all,the author points out the weakness of Continental's energy saving and emission reduction business on techniques,customer service and after sales service etc.,which seriously restrict the development of energy saving and emission reduction business.Second,the development strategy of Continental's energy saving and emission reduction business is determined by using SWOT Analysis.Cost leadership strategy should be implemented after comparison.Specialization strategy should be implemented as short-term development strategy when the competence for local R&D team is not competitive enough.And differentiation strategy will be selected as the long-term development strategy for Continental's energy saving and emission reduction business.Thirdly,the paper proposes to increase the strength of R&D,make up for the technical disadvantage of product development,decrease R&D cost of sensor and optimize the competitive channel as the detail implementation plan.In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the strategy,innovative sales model,optimized after sales service,perfect human resource construction,strong technical innovation and brand building should be put into reality.
