Research On Spatial Morphology And Architectural Features Of Historic Conservation Area Of Anshun Confucius Temple

Anshun is a provincial famous historical and cultural city in Guizhou Province.It is located in the southwest of China and featured by typical mountain topography.Affected by regional environment,the urban structure of Anshun City is of asymmetrical cross pattern.In addition,its important military status makes multiple levels of defense essential to Anshun,and the layout of streets and lanes there enjoys great defensiveness.In the meantime,influenced by the orthodox culture of Central China,the forms and patterns of the towns,streets and lanes,and architectures of Anshun City share some similarities with those of Central China.Due to multiple factors,the block forms and architectural features with unique regional characteristics have been formed in Anshun City.This thesis analyzes the morphological features of the Historic Conservation Area of Anshun Confucius Temple by applying the theoretical methods respectively of"Group","Order" and "Topology" in the three mathematical parent structures of structuralism.From the three perspectives of Anshun metro area,Historic Conservation Area of Anshun Confucius Temple and architectures in blocks,the thesis analyzes the spatial morphology and architectural features of the Historic Conservation Area of Anshun Confucius Temple,and explores the relationship between the spatial morphology and architectural features of the blocks in Anshun City and the geographical environment,climate features,military culture and Tunpu culture.The thesis is divided into five chapters.As the general,Chapter One presents the background,methods,scope,framework and significance of the research.Chapter Two is an overview of the Historic Conservation Area of Anshun Confucius Temple,in which the natural conditions,history and culture,and historical evolution are straightened out to lay a foundation for conducting research on the spatial morphology and architectural features of the Historic Conservation Area of Anshun Confucius Temple.Chapter Three focuses on block space analysis.Starting from block spatial pattern and the integrant elements of block space,the three structure principles of "Group","Order" and "Topology" of structuralism are applied to analyze the morphological features of the blocks.Chapter Four analyzes the architectural features of the blocks,which are respectively elaborated from the two aspects of public buildings and residential buildings.As the concluding part,Chapter Five summarizes the spatial morphology and architectural features of the Historic Conservation Area of Anshun Confucius Temple.As an important member of the historic conservation areas in China,the Historic Conservation Area of Anshun Confucius Temple embodies unique regional features.The thesis is a supplement to the research on the diversity of Chinese architectural heritages,providing references for the protection of historical blocks and residential buildings in China.
