The total volume of China's social logistics has been rising year by year,and the logistics efficiency of the entire logistics industry has been continuously improved.Correspondingly,the volume of railway freight has continued to fall,and the original mode of railway transportation has no longer adapted to the rapid development of China's logistics industry.China National Railway Corporation decided to fully participate in the modern logistics industry,and the transformation of rail freight into modern logistics has become an inevitable trend.The railway freight yard is the most basic production unit in railway freight transportation and one of the most important logistics node elements in the railway logistics system.Under the background of the transition from railway freight to modern logistics,it is undoubtedly of great practical significance to conduct in-depth research on the optimization of yard facilities and workflow.The main research work of this thesis includes the following aspects.Firstly,a literature review of the development and status quo of modern railway logistics center construction and layout planning at home and abroad was made.From the successful experience of developed countries to develop railway logistics centers,it is necessary to accelerate the transformation of traditional railway transportation stations into modern logistics centers,where one of the important points is to optimize the configuration of existed yard facilities and to rationalize the functional areas.Then we analyzed the problems existing in the configuration of the traditional railway yard in facilities and equipment.We also pointed out that the problems existing in the operation procedures of traditional railway freight yards,including.Secondly,by reviewing the related research of logistics and logistics center,the definition of modern logistics center was discussed and defined.The function and characteristics of the modern logistics center were described.It is believed that the functions of the modern logistics center can be divided into three aspects: basic functions,value-added functions and extension functions.The main features of the modern logistics center include high degree of information,a high degree of automation,a wide range of diverse services,full network functions,effective convergence of multiple transportation and flexible customer service.Then we discussed the necessity and feasibility of establishing a modern railway logistics center.We also tried to optimize the logistics operations under the modern logistics conditions and clarify the advantages of the optimized yard operation process.Finally,taking Hengyang Freight Station as an example,we introduce the basic overview of Hengyang Freight Station,including the restrictions on business operations,the basic conditions of the freight yard,and the basic production conditions,and analyze and determine the type and function of Hengyang Freight Station.We then studied the status quo of the freight operation organization in Hengyang Freight Station and conducted an objective analysis and summary of the main problems and weak links in the three freight yards of Hengyang Freight Station.We pointed out that the facilities and equipment configuration and functional area layout of Hengyang Freight Station no longer adapt to urban planning construction and economic development,and proposed that the reform strategy of Hengyang Freight Station should be divided into three steps.After the analysis,the facilities and equipment of Hengyang Freight Station were selected and rationally allocated.At the same time,on the basis of clarifying the functional positioning of Hengyang Freight Station,the Hengyang Freight Station's relatively weak full logistics operation process and the whole process of information tracking operations were carried out.In particular,we took the largest Minghan freight yard in Hengyang freight station as an example,analyzed the layout of its functional areas using SLP method,and finally put forward a reasonable plan for constructing a freight yard with modern logistics functions.
