Nowadays,the sense of competition among enterprises becomes stronger and stronger.The importance of people,as a resource to enterprises,is self-evident.Thus,the impact of human resource management on enterprises becomes more and more obvious.Within human resource management,performance management is a very important module.It aims to evaluate the performance level of the enterprise staff and then design incentive measures by understanding performance results rationally to motivate staff’s potential.The performance management tries to combine the organizational goals and staff objectives to improve their working motivation.In enterprises,middle-level managers are the performers of strategic objectives,the decision-makers,and the core human resources of enterprises.Their work performance greatly affects the operational efficiency of enterprises.Therefore,it is very important to evaluate the performance level of middle managers impartially,and to fully mobilize their enthusiasm,initiative and creativity by applying evaluation results.Therefore,establishing a fair scientific and effective performance management system for middle-level managers has been paid more and more attention by high-level employees.This paper takes the middle-level managers of a power supply company as the research object.After a great deal of literature research of performance management theory,the paper analyzes the current status of middle-level manager performance management system with the assist of existed theoretical results.Then it points out the existing problems and deficiencies,and optimizes the performance management design by using modern performance management theories and advanced methods.Firstly,by observing the working nature of the middle managers in power supply company,the paper reviews the company’s performance appraisal index system and evaluation method,and points out the pros and cons of various methods.At the same time,the focus is on exploring the reasonable performance Evaluation index system for power supply enterprise’s middle managers.Then,combined with the company’s strategic objectives and middle-level management staffs position responsibilities,optimize the appraisal index,the index weight as well as the corresponding appraisal standard and design the appraisal index system through the use of balanced scorecard,the key performance index decomposition method and so on.Finally,build up the corresponding performance management support system,make it more scientific and reasonable,more operable,and truly become a management "system" in the end.It will provide some references for the performance management of middle managers in power supply enterprises.
