Community vegetable market is one of the important places of basic material life allowances for urban residents,which is the most complicated public place for the daily flow of people in urban communities,and it is also the foundation of national economy and people's livelihood.The prosperity of community food market reflects the vitality of urban community public space and communication between people from the side.In recent years,with the rapid rise of big supermarket chains and fresh convenience stores,which has caused a shunt effect on vegetable markets that face unprecedented pressure to survive.The rise of the standard vegetable market seems to have solved the environmental problem,but the traditional community market is not as simple as a vegetable counter.How to stimulate the spatial vitality of the community vegetable market where customers,vegetable traders and others communicate,how to make the vegetable market adapt to the urban development and meet the improvement of people's quality of life while further improving the operation condition and enhancing the market competitiveness,which are important problems the community vegetable market must face.The first part of this article combs and summarizes the realistic background related to the thesis and the research status at home and abroad,regarding community market of Chengdu as the research object,and defines the research content and its related concepts.Combined with the case study of excellent vegetable market at home and abroad,this paper puts forward relevant research methods and technical route.The second part includes the case investigation and theoretical study,first of all,this paper takes more than 30 community markets of Chengdu located within the second ring as the research object,and divides them into three types in the form of space,which is the self-contained,the attached and the street in turn.Based on more than 30 site investigation and analysis on the community market,this paper summarizes the present characteristics of community market of Chengdu,which is regarded as the reality on the design and research of the spatial vitality of community market of Chengdu.Second,through the theory research of phenomenology of architecture,environmental psychology,behavioral psychology and so on,this paper puts forward the core of the paper argument,that is people,activities,space environment which are three main factors of urban public space vitality.In the third part,three typical cases of different types were selected from the research objects for the study of spatial vitality,and was carried out the study of the reconstruction design;Combined with the above research contents,this paper summarizes the design suggestions of the spatial vitality of community vegetable market of Chengdu.Through the study of practical cases and relevant theories,this paper aims to propose design methods for the spatial vitality design of community vegetable market of Chengdu,and to provide guidance for the establishment of harmonious community of Chengdu and references for the study of the spatial vitality of urban public space.
