Due to its advantages of good seismic performance, high strength, light weight and short construction period, the prefabricated steel structure building is widely used in high-rise buildings. In recent years, the state has promoted industrialization of buildings strongly. However, the performance and connection assembling technology of enclosure walls is one of most important reasons that restrict the development of steel structure buildings. The precast steel-grid vitrified microsphere foamed concrete(SVMFC)sandwich composite wall panels is expected to be applied to the prefabricated steel structure construction because of its advantages of light weight, good bending performance and high prefabrication is expected to be applied to the prefabricated steel structure construction. Some researches on the performance of light-weight wall panels or composite wall panels and failure mechanism between wall panels and steel frames subjected to earthquake action have been carried out. However, the research on seismic performance of steel frames with embedded SVMFC composite wall panels has not been reported.Seismic performance of steel frames with embedded SVMFC composite wall panels and flexural behavior of composie walls were studied based on the experimental and theoretical analysis in this paper. The following is research work:(1)The flexural FE model of SVMFC sandwich composite wall panel was established by program ABAQUS.The FE analysis results are compared with the existing test results to verify the reliability and accuracy of the theoretical analysis model. The parameters such as panel type, the thickness of wall panel, foam concrete strength, and rebar strength were studied to determine the main factors affecting the flexural performance of SVMFC sandwich composite wall panel.(2)two specimens of steel frames with embedded precast SVMFC sandwich composite wall panels under low cyclic loading were tested, and the effect of wall opening on seismic behavior of wall panel was studied.Test procedure and failure modes of the specimens were observed. The hysteretic curves, skeleton curves, degradation curves of strength and stiffness, ductility as well as the energy dissipation capacity were analyzed. The test results showed that the steel frames with embedded precast SVMFC sandwich composite wall panels have good hysteretic behavior, ductility and energy dissipation capacity. Moreover, the welding connection between SVMFC sandwich composite wall panels and steel frames under earthquake action can be guaranteed;Besides, the elastic rigidity and ultimate bearing capacity of steel frames with embedded composite wall panels was obviously influenced by wall opening.(3)The theoretical analysis models of steel frames with embedded precast SVMFC sandwich composite wall panel was established by program ABAQUS.The FE analysis results are compared with the test results to verify the reliability and accuracy of the theoretical analysis model.Furthermore, the non-liner whole-course analysis were carried out to obtain the failure mechanism and the stress development of the structure.(4)The theoretical analysis models of steel frames with embedded precast SVMFC sandwich composite wall panel under static load was established by program ABAQUS.The parameters such as steel strength, foam concrete strength, rebar strength, panel type, the thickness of wall panel,beam-column line stiffness ratio and opening were studied to determine the main factors affecting the seismic performance of structures.
