The Morphological Evolution Of Fuzhou Ancient City In A Typo-morphological Approach

Based on the basic theory and method of Urban Typo-morphology,this paper makes an empirical analysis of the urban form and historical evolution of the ancient city of Fuzhou.The present state of the city is the result of the changes of various dynamic factors in each historical period,and the process of tracing its historical evolution is an important basis for a thorough understanding of the form of the city.From the element to the whole system analysis method,the city form is a complete system composed of different levels of elements,and the detailed analysis of the characteristics of different levels of the morphological elements is a necessary prerequisite for a complete understanding of the city form.The study of the morphology of Fuzhou ancient city adopts the method of historical evolution.Taking time as the longitudinal axis of development,it is analyzed from two aspects of the substance elements,such as street,block,plot and architectural,and the social dynamic factors behind them.To connect the non-intuitive social,political,economic and cultural changes with the physical and environmental changes of the entity,the evolution of the local and micro urban forms with the overall and macro urban development,so that the research will be closer to reason and objective.The main content of the paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the theory of urban morphology and the application of localization.This paper discusses the formation and development of urban morphological theory and the research foundation of theory.It also analyzes the application of this theory in the research of Chinese cities and ancient cities,and summarizes the analytical framework of Fuzhou ancient city.The second part is the origin of the ancient city of Fuzhou.Through the interpretation of historical materials and maps,the formation and evolution process of the form of the ancient city of Fuzhou is systematically discussed from the initial form of settlement,geographical elements,the form of the city of the Liao Dynasty and the form of the city of the Ming Dynasty.The third part studies the evolution of Fuzhou form from Qing Dynasty to Republic of China.First of all,the social background of the time was briefly expounded,followed by the sand table in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China as the main reference,the analysis of the ancient city road,street profile,property rights block and various architectural types in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,and finally summed up the morphological characteristics of the ancient city in the period of the Republic of China.The fourth part is about the morphology of the ancient city of Fuzhou from before and after liberation to the 1980 s.From the establishment of the People's Republic of China,the “Cultural Revolution” and the reform and opening up,this chapter describes the series of changes that have taken place in the general form of the ancient city of Fuzhou.Secondly,it studies the morphological changes that have taken place in the various elements of the ancient city in the context of this period.Summarize the characteristics of the evolution of the ancient city of Fuzhou in this period.The fifth part is the morphological study of Fuzhou ancient city after the end of the 20 th century.Firstly,the general morphological changes of Fuzhou ancient city under the background of this period are described.Secondly,the morphological evolution and features of the ancient city's roads,street profiles,property plots and buildings are summarized.Finally,they are summarized in the end of the 20 th century to 21 st.Morphological Evolution and Type Characteristics of the Ancient City of Fuzhou in the Early Century.
