The Application Of AM Customization In Hull Design

Ship design software AM(Aveva Marine)is now the most widely used 3D ship design software in the world.The module of AM in hull production design is HullDesign,provides a very powerful function.And help ship design engineer to create hull model,work drawing,nesting and so on.However,due to the objective conditions of each shipyard are different,AM software can’t do everything,there are lots of things that can be improved.For example,drawings,reports and other formats are different from the shipyard tradition.Some functions can be completed,but the operation is more complicated.Fortunately,AM is like AutoCAD and Microsoft Office,also provides customization interface and for customers to develop their functions,in order to solve many practical problems in their design works.The design period of hull production is long,the workload is large,and there are more repetitive work.These characteristics make the hull design work particularly suitable for computer aided processing,in order to reduce the labor of designers,improve design efficiency and design quality.In this paper,the main stages of ship production design are analyzed and studied,to find out the specific and time-consuming design work peculiar to the shipyard and the design in the design process.Through the analysis of artificial design process,make customization for AM software,to simplify or automate these design works.This paper mainly studies hull modeling,drawing,NC nesting and output BOM reports.Through the use of programs instead of manual tasks in these types of design tasks,not only improved the design efficiency,but also improved the quality of the design.In the design staff promotion,and achieved good results.AM is an upgraded production of the original known ship design software Tribon.They’re all AVEVA’s products.At present,researchers at home and abroad have published numerous papers and materials on Tribon customization,the data for the customization of AM is relatively small.But AVEVA has abandoned the upgrade and support for Tribon,and vigorously promote Aveva Marine,with the development of AM,the demise of Tribon,Tribon customization development will also turn to AM customization development.
